Welcome Back Assembly 2010
Hey, Highlanders! Welcome to a brand new school year! To honor the occasion the Highlands Student Government hosted our annual Welcome Back Assembly welcoming both the returning eighth graders and also the brand new seventh graders to our great school.
The assembly was held at the Gym on Friday, August 13, 2010. Our emcee was ultra-hip Micah Banks from Power 104.3 FM! About a couple days before the assembly, the Leadership Workshop class, hosted a prize giveaway booth containing a brand-spanking new bike from the Bike Shop and totally cool t-shirts from iKandy! The prizes were given away at the end of the Welcome Back Assembly. But, before then, we had a special performance from one of our Highlands Best Dance Crews, a frozen t-shirt contest, and team and grade level cheering competitions!
We had an awesome time being welcomed back so we hope you enjoy the rest of your new school year!

WBA Lunch Booths: Prize Giveaway & School Theme 2010-11
Hey, Highlands, now weren't those lunch booths awesome?! The event everyone was talking about took place on August 13, 2010, during lunch at the Main Courtyard outside of C5 and C6. The lunch booths consisted of the WBA Prize Giveaway Booth and the Vote for School Theme 2010-11. As soon as the bell for lunch rang there was a MAJOR rush to both activities. Everyone who participated for the booth was given a treat of a lollipop and 2 spirit points for their Team. The WBA Prize Giveaway booth had amazingly-hip t-shirts by iKandy and also the grandprize...a brand-new Specialized 24 Hotrock street bike from the Bike Shop across from the Waimalu Shopping Plaza! All in all there was almost $1,000 up for grabs!!!
Mr. White's Leadership students ran the lunch booth smoothly despite the mad rush to enter! The School Theme 2010-11 booth was run cooly by the Student Government & 8th Grade Class Council. Many students voted and the result is our school theme for year as voted by the student body is "Green is the new Purple...Go Green!". WOOOHOO that theme rocks -- so, lets all GO GREEN!!!
