Have you ever played soccer? Of course you have... Hold on -- have you ever played Highlands version of soccer? Our version is based of official Futsol Soccer rules and it’s super-fast game on a very small field. Another big difference here is there are only 4 players on each side with no goalie. Yeah, different! This year's Q3 Soccer intramural started right after the Valentine’s Day Dance and all 8 teams put up an awesome fight to become grade level champions, and eventually school champion! Here's a big shout-out to 7th Grade Champs (Hui Ha’aheo) and 8th Grade Champs (Hui Mana’o). The championship game was hard-fought and the title of school soccer champions eventually went to Team Hui Ha’aheo!!!
The Highlands Intermediate Student Council is a 2023 National Gold Council of Excellence recognized for its exemplary record of leadership, service and activities that improve the school and community.

REWIND! Welcome Back Assembly 2015 "May the Force Be With You"
This has to be the most epic event we've ever put on! Thanks so much for our yearbook photography company, Expressions, for these amazing photos -- photos that capture the second half of the assembly, not covered in our original post back in August 2015. Simply put, we couldn't have had a better activity to kick-off the best school year ever!!!

Valentine's Day Dance 2016 "High School Musical"
Are you ready for the most romantic holiday of the year? Well, we certainly were and our whole school came out in force with red, pink and white! The entire Highlands campus was filled with hearts and love, Cupids and fluffy clouds, roses and all things sweet! That’s right, it’s time for the Valentine’s Day Dance “High School Musical!” where everyone -- teachers, staff and students -- could enjoy the “holiday of love” in a super fun fashion. This event took place on Thursday 2/11/16 at Lunch in the P.E courtyard. There were tons of Valentine’s/HSM themed activites: HSM Polaroid Booth, Teachers Dunk Booth, Balloon Productions, Basketball for Teddy Bears, Cupid’s Arrow game, and lastly the Voting Booth for the Valentine’s Kings and Queens. All the events surrounded the main Valentine’s Dance Canopy student DJ’d by our very own, DJ Lumpia! She played all the best jams until the final song… But, it was all over we made the announcement that everyone was waiting for — who would be this year’s Valentine’s Kings & Queens, nominated in Homeroom and voted on at the Valentine’s Day Dance. Congratulations to this year’s Valentine’s Day Kings & Queens (7th — Sachi and Aiden | 8th — Allyson and Reily | Teachers — Mr. and Mrs. Karwiel). We couldn’t think of a better way to get ready for the upcoming Valentine’s Weekend that than this! Laura, Dance Committee Chair
