Student Activities Fair 2018

So many Highlands Intermediate students came and explored their different interests at the Student Activities Fair 2018! The Student Activities Fair took place in the Cafeteria during Lunch on Thursday -- August 30. It was so awesome because there were so many clubs to choose from, with so many different people bonding with similar interests! With so many different extracurricular and co-curricular activities and clubs, I imagine no one could ever be bored at Highlands Intermediate! Present were some older clubs such as Robotics, Latin Dance Club, and Chess Club…  Other student created clubs were J Pop/ K Pop Club, Yu-Gi-Oh Club, and Anime Club! Newer clubs included the Art Club, Be-You-Tiful Club, and Girls Club! Whatever your passion is, there is a club for you or you can make your own club with the help of a teacher! Welcome Back Assembly 2018 "Welcome to Olympus!"

Welcome Back, Heroes!!!!!! The Welcome Back Assembly 2018 “Welcome to Olympus!” was thrilling and amazing! To get it started right, the Student Council stood in the doorways of the gym shouting cheers to all the student to pump them up for the biggest assembly of the year! To kickoff the assembly we had Thalia sing the “Star Spangled Banner” and Menine sung “Hawaii Pono’i.” After hearing their wonderful singing, Mr. Rabacal played ukulele and sang “This Is Me” from the movie, The Greatest Showman -- it was soooooo awesome! Next, the Highlands Student Council got introduced to the school with a dance to Bruno Mars’ “Gibberish.” After that, it was the new teachers’ turn!  After being introduced, they surprised everyone with the “Cupid Shuffle.” Taking it up several notches *hahahah*, dancers from Treasure Box Studios took to the floor with an amazing dance routine!!! The rest of the assembly was dedicated to kicking off the Highlands Spirit Competition through several games played between the 7 Highlands Teams: Poseidon’s Relay Race, Hermes Cup Challenge, Sword Balance, Sword Flip, Sword Tag, Sword Thief, and Chariot Race!  It was great to see both students and teachers participating with such spirit and skill… we just knew it was just the beginning of some amazing things to come! Welcome Back to School 2018

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS! Today is the day where all students go back to school after the long, beautiful, restful summer break. The student council took to the school entrance in the morning and held up posters that gave all the students a warm and exciting welcome to Highlands Intermediate and the 18-19 school year! Everyone in Highlands Student Council gave 100% effort in each and every cheer and energizer to make sure everyone was pumped up for the 1st day of school and then the upcoming Welcome Back Assembly! We were also rolling out and hyping up the new school theme 18-19 -- Percy Jackson & the Olympians -- I think it worked ;)  Eizekiel, Athletics Committee Co-Chair
