Highlands Escape Room 2

The wicked Medusa has trapped you in her lair and you only have 10 minutes get yourself out… with your life! For the second year in a row, the Highlands Student Council hosted Highlands Escape Room 2! All 7 of the teams competed head-to-head to see who could escape the StuCo Room before time was up. We hid ridldes and keys in out of the way places and we gave them only 10 frantic minutes to escape!  With only 2 clues per team, most were turned to stone by Medusa’s petrifying stare! Better luck next time, well, if there was a next time hahahahahahaha!!!! Brittany, Assembly Committee

Valentine's Door Contest 2019

The month of February is always so lovely -- chocolates, roses, cards that we all love so much ;) The students of Highlands Intermediate showed their school spirit towards the upcoming Valentine’s Day by creating a decorative door in the theme of Valentine’s with additional spirit points if they used the the School Theme 18-19 (Percy Jackson, Greek Mythology) to their door! The outcome of all the doors across campus were outstanding and so creative!  We hope that all students enjoyed creating these lovely works of art which helped to spread love and Valentine’s Day spirit all across campus! Gung Hee Fat Choy, Highlands!

“Gung Hee Fat Choy!” Happy Chinese New Year everyone! This year’s celebration was a sweet surprise to everyone, event to Mr. White lol ;)  When the Hawai’i Lion Dance Association showed up no one was ready for what was to come. But, both students and teachers quickly gathered around to get up close and personal with the amazing show that they put on! Amazing footwork and rhythmic drums made for such an awesome show! Students that need that extra bit of luck made sure to feed the dragon money as is Chinese tradition.  We were so pumped up after this Lion Dance performance we simply can’t wait for next year ;) Jasmine, Spirit Committee
