Highlands Haunted House 9: Stranger Things (Solo Shots)
The seasons of spooks and scares has arrived, and with it so has the famous Highlands Haunted House! For the 9th year of stunning action our theme was the super hot Netflix show Stranger Things... Held in the Student Council Room, Highlands Haunted House is always a thrill to every student who finds themselves lucky enough to make it inside, guided through rooms of glow-in-the-dark murals by our trained guides as our actors terrify them into corners or the ground! The special Chromadepth glasses make our haunt 3 dimensional with otherworldly portals, circuits and blood float eerily off the walls!!! With the music blaring, the guides are psyched and and our actors were raring to go! It took weeks of preparation to put up walls and design this show and we hosted nearly 1,000 students, teachers and staff members over a 4 day run. We can confidently say that this year’s Highlands Haunted House 9: Stranger Things was no doubt the best ever!!! Mia, Student Government Vice President

Halloween 2021: Mummy Wrap & Races
Who still dresses up for Halloween? Me! At Highlands Intermediate, you are NEVER too old to dress up. And in the spirit of this idea, Student Council threw a dazzling costume contest for the students of our school! Of course, teachers were welcome to participate as well! To make school more fun, leadership students, Spirit Club, and Student Government worked hard to make this activity come to life. For this Halloween costume contest, we had kids in dressed up costumes that blew even the biggest horror movie fanatic on the floor! During lunch, these hauntingly scary students lined up at a booth in the Library Courtyard and paraded about. Not only did the kids get to have fun but they were also able to showcase brilliant designs that are not normally possible with our school uniform policy. Highlands does activities for many different events for every holiday, but there are none quite like Halloween! Anakakia, Spirit Committee Chair
