Halloween Bash 2024

Happy Halloween, Highlands! What better way to celebrate the spookiest day of the year than by having a fun day for students and staff to dress up and participate in some frightful holiday activities all at the same time! This Halloween, there were several activities such as the Halloween Costume Contest and Haunted Highlands Photo Booth! We got to see so many amazing costumes and they were all super creative and spooky! With the help of the Student Council and Mr. White students got to go home with wonderful memories and a sweet treat! Dwayne Yoshioka, Spirit Committee

Highlands Haunted House 12 "Ravenloft"

Nearly 800 students courageously took the challenge and went on a quest to defeat the evil vampire, Strahd, in Highlands Haunted House 12 “Ravenloft” from October 25 - 30 at the Student Council Room! They bravely took on the roles of either a Rogue, Ranger, Wizard, or Knight before venturing into the spooky castle filled with blood curdling screams and vile monsters! With the help of a brave Guide, the party traveled first through the haunted forest, scary cemetery, and finally, through a secret doorway, they entered Castle Ravenloft… Every character had a chance to use their special abilities to stay alive all the while encountering ghosts, ghouls, vampires, and even Count Strahd von Zarovich himself! Over the course of one week, Haunted House 12 was host to over 1,000 guests, including students, teachers, family members, and staff. The acting, artwork, and sound effects were able to pull guests out of the relative safety of this world and into a Dungeons & Dragons fantasy they wouldn’t soon forget! Highlands Haunted House 12 “Ravenloft” most definitely created lasting memories for everyone who live to tell the tale boohahahahaha… Karly Paradeza, Spirit Committee

Rotary Club of Pearlridge Check Presentation to Highlands Interact Club

Who's that at the door? Why, it's the Rotary Club of Pearlridge walking in with a big surprise for us! As we were setting up our weekly Executive Council Meeting, President Mr. Barry Villamil and past President Mr. Dick Mosko handed us a check to support what we do best – thrive as leaders! The Rotary Club had come to support our efforts, impressed by how much work we’d put into creating amazing experiences for the students, teachers and staff at Highlands Intermediate. Their generous donation will help us improve our events and support other school projects. It was the perfect twist to our already fun day, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Bib thanks to the Rotary Club of Pearlridge, our school year is going to be even better than we could ever have imagined! Tegan Shadwick, Student Government President
