Students grabbed guitars, drum sticks, and microphones and moshed their way to the Cafeteria on April 5th and 6th during Lunch for the 1st Annual Highlands Rock Band Tournament! Each band got to choose a song and played it in front of the entire school. It was awesome to witness such powerful rock skill skills from our very own Highlands students! They all blew the roof off this place but the band that ultimately took 1st place was Kayla, Kobe, Raistlyn, and Deshay of Insanity!!! The winning performance was their Rock Band version of "That's What You Get" by Paramore.
Those 7th graders will be the reigning Rock Band Champs until next year and they scored a $100 iTunes gift card to split amongst the group. Blink 183 came in a strong second and the other groups that participated were Legendary Teenz, Social Corruption, and The Electronic Rockers. This epic event was a major hit and we even got a special performance from the Highlands Teacher All-Stars! Congratulations to all the bands for a rockin' so hard!
