On Thursday, September 13th, 2012, the Highlands Intermediate Student Council and volunteers from Pearl City High School hosted and facilitated the 2012 Highlands Intermediate Leadership Workshop! This year's theme was, "HERO UP!" The students learned the aspects of being a leader and facilitating. We split up into groups and learned how to prepare for and run meetings (FL), goal setting (SMART), and how to plan student activities and events. We even had some awesome energizers & icebreaker activities that brought out the best in all of us...and they were really fun too!. We had awesome guest speakers like Mr. Hallums (Highlands alum and PCHS head football coach) who inspired us all to be the best and to never lose sight of our goals and dreams. Along the way, we all got to know each other better. At the end of the day, we had guest speakers from New Hope (Impact 808) who taught us that if you believe you can do it, you can achieve it. On this day, we created great memories and the 2012 Highlands Leadership Workshop will soon not be forgotten.
