Dog treats, chew toys, cat food, and many other items were all donated in our first ever OSPCA Donation Drive!!! The project was originally conceived in our Leeward District Student Council as a district service project. For those of you who do not know what the OSPCA is, it is an animal shelter located in downtown Honolulu that houses hundreds of stray cats and dogs. With all of these animals in the shelter, it is pretty hard to make sure that they have enough supplies and are being taken care of properly. So, we wanted to help them and we did this by running a donation drive where all students could pitch in and help all of these poor, abandoned animals!!! There were tons of donations and we would like to thank everyone who pitched in and donated!!! In all, we donated 60 cans of dog food, 4 big bags of dog food, 4 10 lb. bags of dog treats, 19 small bags of dog treats, 21 dog/cat toys, and several bags of clean rags. We all definitely helped to make all of those animals’ lives much better. In the future, we hope to double our donation total to the OSPCA. Thank you for reaching out and helping our furry friends — Highlands, you rock! … Cade, SG President
