About 900 students attend Highlands Intermediate at any given moment. That’s almost a thousand students! Almost a thousand voices! Every year, Student Council needs to make sure that we hear every single one of them. We’re a little late this year because of COVID, but that’s okay. On December 10 of 2021, we gathered up all Homeroom Representatives into the already Christmas-decorated Student Council room for Full Council 1! With the help of our facilitators, conversation was bustling on each table and the discussion was lively. The HR Reps had already talked with their own homerooms about their concerns about the students, their team, and the schools. And after the conversation, they buckled down to organize their thoughts and present to the rest of us. By the end, we had a hefty pile of papers, and an extensive list of obstacles for us to tackle. Next step is for Student Council to choose the first thing to fix! And when Full Council 2 comes around, we’ll bring some good news! I’m looking forward to it! Mia, Student Government Vice President
