Did you go to the neon-blacklight haunted house of the future called "Escape from...Planet X-251!"? If you didn't then you missed out! Highlands' first-ever haunted house saw 300+ students during recess and lunch on October 31, 2011 -- Halloween! The smart kids made sure they had a Fast Pass from the lunch booth the week before so they didn't have to wait in the long line. They even had a chance to win 10 Nightmares Live! tickets, score spirit points for their teams, and also get a sneak peek at this most-anticipated upcoming haunted attraction! Those that didn't get a fast pass anxiously awaited their turn in the general admission line that snaked around the SG Room where the activity was held. A video telling the story of Escape from...Planet X-251! and the rules captivated everyone in both lines until it was their turn to don the special 3-D Chromoscope glasses and find the Captain of the ship, find the missing crew members, and find out exactly what went wrong on Planet X-251!
You could tell everyone had a blast as evidenced by all the screaming students jumping, rolling and crawling out of the Escape Hatch! Big shout-out to Mr. Weeks for devoting so much time to making the interior of the haunt so realistic, disturbing and cool!
