On the 15th of April 2013, a tragic incident occurred during the Boston Marathon when two bombs have gone off, injuring more than 100 citizens and killing 3 innocent people. Our 4th Quarter Service Project, Bridge to Boston, was organized to have Highlands students here in Hawaii to reach all the way out to the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing and spread aloha by writing notes of comfort to the victims. Two days after the incident occurred we sprung into action and we created a template for the students, faculty, and staff to write heartfelt notes of sympathy and sincerity in the hope of making the victims feel better through our notes. Once we received all the notes, we evenly distributed the notes into envelopes that we mailed to the hospitals where the injured victims stayed. Also, we sent personal envelopes to the families survived by their loved ones who passed away. This quarter's service project was definitely a huge success, as we were able to spread Hawai'i's aloha to those who were in desperate need. We love you Boston!
