Highlands Haunted House 2: "The Ghosts of Waimano"
Located above Pearl City residential neighborhoods, Waimano Training School and Hospital, an institutional incarceration facility for people with developmental disabilities was established in 1919. The hospital, which was originally known as the Waimano Home for the Feebleminded, was shuttered in 1999 following years of rumors about dingy conditions and questionable patient treatment. In 1978, a temporary asylum was setup at the Metal Shop in Highlands Intermediate for just for a few short months while repairs were being done at the main facility. There were reports of torture and horrific experiments to the patients where some reportedly died or just simply disappeared. To this day, there remains evidence of noises, whispers, lights turning off and on, and much worse in the old Metal Shop. It is up to you to venture with your intrepid tour guide to investigate the aforementioned supernatural phenomena lurking in the shadows and to find out the mystery of...the “Ghosts of Waimano.”
