Bring on your spooks and scares, prince and princesses, and don’t forget them funny costumes to school...for it’s time for a Halloween Dress Up!!! According to our previous weather person, Josiah, Halloween took Highlands by storm but this year -- not only did it take it by storm but it also influenced everybody in school to take their chance to get in the Halloween spirit. Everywhere you looked there were so many types of species in the Highlands Intermediate Savana! Down the hall, you saw a giant inflatable dinosaur talking story with its peers and on the left you there was the one and only Cleopatra hanging out with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Piglet. As you might have heard, you should never take Highlands Intermediate so lightly when it comes to Halloween ;) Natania, Spirit Committee Co-Chairperson

Highlands Halloween Door Contest 2017
Spooky doors...Gory blood...Creeeeeepy Clowns everywhere!!! The annual Halloween Door Decorating Contest helped to spread Halloween spirit campuswide! The most popular theme by far this year was “It” and the scariest clown of them all, Pennywise!!! This contest was an amazing opportunity to show your creativity and love for halloween. Each Homeroom brainstormed ideas to figure out a theme, drew up plans and then “executed!” hehehe. This activity is full of teamwork and creativity as was evident with all the gruesome and scary doors throughout campus! Kaydy, Jaylyn -- Dance Committee Co-Chairs

Highlands Haunted House 6: Best Scares!!!
Highlands Haunted House 6 was an event which scared the skin right off student’s bones! The best scares were captured as students went through the Haunt and boy did we have a laugh! A simple blast of air sent students jumping six feet into the air! Students felt their skin crawl at our deranged prisoner skidding into the dungeon and our pair of glowing eyes near “The Thing That Should Not Be!” Kids were screaming at the terrifying faces of the skeleton guardians...even before they even got into the haunt itself! At the end, when the students were just “dying” to get out, the great Cthulhu attacked! as they desperately tried shooting their way out of the dungeons. They bolted out the door of the haunt, running, mostly stumbling, so fast even our guides couldn’t keep up with them! The best scares are captured below -- enjoy! Danni, 8th Grade Vice-President

Highlands Haunted House 6: Cast, Crew, Crowd!
Cast! Crew! Crowd! These things were certainly the most amazing parts of our Highlands Haunted House 6! Our great cast consisted of guides going through the haunt, the monsters, the Sacrifice, and our awesome cult members! The crew worked behind the scenes to make our haunted house the best! The crew worked all the special effects like the air guns, the sound effects, animatronics, and even the Great Cthulhu! Lastly, was the crowd... The student council room was certainly the place to be this Halloween! The crowds consisted of several hundred students from all seven Teams -- and they were soooooo excited to be get scared!
Highlands Haunted House 6 was all about frights (and fun), however, work comes before play. Doing all the heavy lifting was Ms. Fonoti and the LC class. They put of the walls and extended our haunt this year with the HH6 Shooting Gallery. Thanks to Mr. Weeks who painted all the amazing 3D walls! Thanks also to Mr. Tamaye for wiring and lighting the entire haunt and also for taking all those shots of students getting spooked! Lastly, all of this couldn't have been done by Mr. White who planned the activity and supervised all of us! Thanks to EVERYONE who made HH6 the best haunt Highlands has ever seen ;) Amaia & Ocean, 8th Grade Class Council
