Halloween Dress Up 2018

October 31st is finally here -- Halloween!  At long last... students campus wide got to don their costumes and roam the halls of Highlands with tons of laughs and some chills!  Everyone was so hyped up to come to school because it's like living in an actual horror film, an action movie or being in the internet everywhere you go ;)  There was a lot of people watching during the morning, recess and lunch as there was such a variety of costumes going around.  Even better was all the teachers that dressed up too! To add even more excitement, students told ghost stories, joked around and looked forward to the big Halloween Costume Contest to come at lunch time... Halloween is the BEST!!!  Ellis, 8th Grade Vice-President

Highlands Haunted House 7: Cast & Crew

Lights, Camera, Action!  Highlands Haunted House 7: “The House of Hades” was put together to get the students of Highlands Intermediate to be excited to come to school and to be pumped up for Halloween!  From special effects to handling animatronics to guiding to scaring -- we did it all! Our amazing cast consisted of StuCo members as guides, monsters and even Hades, the main scare. Our crew worked all the special effects and became actors and actresses once it was showtime. The air guns, sound effects, the shooting gallery and monsters were all portrayed and handled by the Student Council, Mr. Nakagawa’s LC class and Mr. Fujii’s SMC class. Big thanks to everyone who helped make HH7 happen! Thanks especially to Mr. Weeks who played a big part in the Haunted House by painting all the breathtaking glow-in-the-dark 3D walls! Lastly, thanks to Mr. White who supervised us throughout the process of creating HH7 and running it. Lastly, we’d like to thank the 500+ students brave enough to enter and survive Highlands Haunted House 7: “The House of Hades”!!!  Diogne, SG Secretary

Highlands Haunted House 7: Best Scares!

Highlands Haunted House 7 was an event that made students’ skin crawl! The most incredible moments were captured as students toured the haunt and came upon the grand finale -- Hades’ Castle! From half faced zombies to creepy shadows, students were chilled to the bone in this most memorable Halloween event. The haunt climaxed as the Dark Lord himself, Hades,  chased students screaming from the final room. Some of the best moments are captured in the photos below… enjoy! Eric, Spirit Committee Co-Chair

Highlands Haunted House 7 Photo Booth

BOO! That was the feeling -- of both fear and excitement -- that saturated the air as everyone who ran out of this year’s haunt had!  Everyone had the expression of fright and shock as they took their pictures at our photo booth, the actual last stop at Highlands Haunted House 7.  Most couldn’t wait to post their evidence of survival on Instagram ;) Either way, the expressions of those who exited the haunt were priceless and those moments were then captured as our photo booth snapped away. Over a four day run, the reactions from the people who exited the haunted house was unforgettable and it showed in the pictures they took, especially from the looks on their faces! This was evidence on just how powerful an experience our haunted house can be... Chase, 8th Grade President
