Fall Dance..."It's a Thriller!"
Friday -- October 2, 2009
Our first-ever Halloween-themed dance was indeed a "thriller!" as Highlands students dressed up to get down on the last day of the 1st quarter. The cafeteria was deftly decorated by the Dance Committee in a way that would make Dracula himself step out of his coffin and dance the "Thriller!" just like MJ! DJ Packo laid down some current hits, some Halloween classics, and of course, the essential Michael Jackson tributes.
Other than the dance we had lots to do all around. At the back of the cafeteria and on the lanai the Leadership class ran a Trick or Treat Game and a Tattoo Booth, Student Government ran a Halloween Photo Booth, the Dance Committee ran a Monster Mouth Marathon and Night of the Living Ducks games and lastly, Mrs. Mumaw oversaw Mumaw's Costume Emporium. Not wanting anyone to "die" of hunger, several Teams and Clubs on campus ran food and beverage booths along the mauka lanai underneath the canopy of bats!
The students of Highlands Intermediate had a lot to celebrate and what a party it was! Thanks to all those that made this event rock -- you know who you are! What a way to end the quarter and welcome in this year's Halloween than at the Fall Dance...It's a "Thriller!"
