SOLVE THAT CUBE!! Once again, Highlands' 3rd Annual Rubik's Cube Challenge has come! The 3rd Annual Rubik's Cube Challenge was held on Friday, April 29, 2011 in the cafeteria during lunch. Although, the preliminary rounds were held in the Student Government room during period 4. Two students from each team were asked to participate in the Rubik's Cube Challenge. Every participant competed in the Preliminary Rounds but only 8 could advance to the Championship Round!
The Championship Round was held in the Cafeteria and the 8 participants that advanced to this round were, Dane, Julius, Bryan, Kaili, Croix, Lumi, Danielle, and Jacob. The Cafe was packed with students and teachers who watched anxiously to see who the winner would be! Fingers and hands moved with blurring precision the second the Championship Round officially started! It was a real close race to the finish, but there could only be one winner -- CONGRATULATIONS TO DANE who had a time of 1:12 and took 1st place!!! Second place was Bryan with a time of 1:16 (so close!!) and third place was Julius with a time of 1:27. Everybody did a fantastic job! Dane won 100 spirit points for Team Ho'oko + Cuponk, Bryan won 90 spirit points for his team + Perplexus puzzle ball, and Julius of Team Ho'oko won 80 spirit points for his team + Bop It! This event was awesome and fun! Hopefully every Rubik's Cube Challenge in the future will be as fun as this one was!!!
