Teacher Appreciation Week 2012

The teachers are Highlands rock!  They give us students so much throughout the year that it was time to finally give back!  Teacher Appreciation Week took place May 7 - 11 and included three big activities just for teachers.  Teachers were welcomed to school as they signed in at the Front Office with a special Teacher Wheel of Fortune.  Instead of winning $5,000 or going Bankrupt, teachers were afforded one of the following prizes: a dry-erase maker (the color of their choosing), an apple, a high five, a cup of Starbucks coffee, or the GRAND PRIZE -- all 4 prizes in one!  Every teacher was a winner that day ;)  On Tuesday, students in Homeroom were given special Teacher Shout-Out notes to write on, collected and distributed on the last day of the week.  The culmination of all this excitement came on Friday during the annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast held in the Cafeteria before school.  Teachers from all corners of campus made sure to take advantage to get "pampered" by the Student Government and Leadership Class helpers with IHOP panckakes, Starbucks Coffee and Teacher Shout-Outs.  Big thanks to the Pearl City IHOP for sponsoring our events with the best pancakes around town and also to the Waikele Starbucks for the best coffee any teacher could ask for!  We love our teachers -- HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!!!
