Student Leadership Conference 2016

“I miss the SLC life -- please, take me back!!!”  These were the words of the Highlands Student Council kids who went to the Student Leadership Conference at University of Hawaii at Manoa from June 26-28. SLC was such a great experience to help us to boost our leadership skills and abilities. We connected with other student council kids from around the state to exchange ideas on how to make our school better. We were welcomed with non-stop cheers and energizers by our amazing facilitators! Aside from learning, the social activity was even better... the dance on the second night was so “a-w-e-s-o-m-e awesome awesome totally!” We bonded together as a family not only with our own Highlands StuCo but also with the other Councils from across the entire State. We learned so much about leadership, teamwork, communication and also on how to make our school better. This was the greatest memory that will last a lifetime... Overall, SLC’16 was an epic experience and we simply can’t wait to make the 2016-17 sy the best year ever!!!  Errol, 8th Grade President
