Congratulations to Mr. Eric White (Highlands Intermediate School) who received a 2019 Teacher Grant from the Pearl City Community Association during a presentation ceremony at Saturday's 4th Annual K. Mark Takai Family Fun Day held at the Momilani Community Center. The $500 grant will fund leadership training component at the annual Highlands Leadership Workshop 2019.
The Pearl City Community Association annually accepts applications at the end of each school year from teachers within the 10 Pearl City District Complex Schools. The applicants purpose and usage of the grant money is reviewed by the PCCA Teacher Grant selection committee and if chosen, is presented a PCCA Teacher Grant award at the annual K. Mark Takai Family Fun Day community recognition program.
Mahalo to PCCA Board Officers Lana Murakami, Pattii Rabacal, and Kelsey Poaha who served on the 2019 PCCA Teacher Grant Selection Committee. Also, mahalo for the generosity of the Pearl City Community Association membership who through annual their membership dues and donations makes it possible to provide the teacher grants as well as scholarships to our Pearl City District Complex students.
Mr. Eric White is the Student Activities Coordinator and Sports Director at Highlands Intermediate for the past 12 years. He is advisor to the Highlands Intermediate Student Council, a 2019 National Gold Council of Excellence!
