8th Grade Banquet 2024

This year's 8th Grade Banquet “Masquerade” was an event to remember 🪩🎉🎶🤩 Thanks to everyone who came out and danced their hearts out on the last week fo school! An even bigger thanks goes out to our teachers and staff members for even making this event possible. Throughout the school year teachers fundraised enough money for this event to make sure we 8th Graders had the time of our lives. Without the help of our 8th Grade Class Advisor, Ms. Fujii, we wouldn’t have been able to make this happen. Thorough planning and work throughout the year had all led up to this event. It was a team effort that reached success with the help of all of our peers. Centerpieces, games, prizes, music, allowed everyone to have fun and dance, dance, dance! Centerpieces went out to the youngest student at the table. Games were administered all throughout the dance so students had a choice to either dance or play games. Along with the food and dessert, it was delicious ;) Students were able to play games and redeem their game card for prizes from snacks to necklaces. With that being said, thanks to our wonderful teachers and staff for making our final year at Highlands something to remember… THAT’S A WRAP COLTS!! 8th Grade Banquet 2022

With the school year ending, current 7th Graders going to 8th Grade and current 8th Graders leaving for High School, It's both exciting and sad. Students will remember their time at Highlands and all the fun that they’ve had here. But of course before they say their final goodbyes they need their farewell activities to get them in the spirit of change and new beginnings. Which is exactly why this year's 8th Grade Banquet theme was “The best is Yet to Come” along with Black, White, and Gold decorations. Due to Covid-19 this year's 8th Grade Banquet was held in the Gym. The event took place on May 24, 2022 on the last week of school which was from 8:30-11:45 in the gym. The Banquet began with the Formal Program, ran with the 8th Grade Class Officers, and ended with Free time activities. During the Formal Program there were PTSA awards, table activities, Slideshows, Student/Teacher entertainment, and lucky number tickets. After that however was the real fun, Free time, which students were able to take pictures at the Photobooth, Get airbrush Tattoos, Play Giant Chess, Checkers, Jenga, and Connect 4, buy snacks/refreshments, spin the prize wheel, dance, and enjoy time with their friends. Later on students would go by designated teams to eat a catered lunch in the cafeteria. To finish off the day, students would spend the rest of the day in Homeroom playing games and watching movies.  Kamaile, 8th Grade Class President

8th Grade Banquet

The 8th grade banquet was a sight to behold!  This year our Monte Carlo themed banquet was held at the swanky District nightclub and featured games like the Steph Curry challenge, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect 4, and several cards games such as Iron Maiden!  The whole venue was packed with students dancing, mingling, and playing games during the last week of the school year. Students enjoyed apple cider in special VIP areas and ate with their homerooms in the Lounge as the music was pumping and the dancers were dancing!  This year’s 8th Grade Banquet was a memorable event to never be forgotten! Big shout out to 8th Grade Advisor, Mr. Nomura, and the 8th Grade Class Council for putting together the best 8th Grade Banquet ever!!! Danni, 8th Grade VP
