What’s a great way to hear student voice and get the opinions of students across campus? Have another Full Council meeting of course! On April 13th, Homeroom Representatives and Student Council members gathered in the Student Council Room to discuss issues at Highlands. It was great to have VP Mr. Tanouye there to hear first hand these concerns! Homeroom Reps had already gotten input from their Homerooms on problems in the school earlier in the week. They were separated into three categories: student, team, and school concerns. The representatives from each team grouped up and chose the top three concerns for each type. After that each team shared their main ideas with the rest of the Full Council. Some recurring complaints included cleaner bathrooms, less bullying, more air conditioning, and less homework. This information will later be taken to school administrators to make Highlands a better place! Taylor, 8th Grade President

Full Council 2
Full Council 2 was a success! All of the Homeroom Representatives came down to the Student Council Room to share the concerns they collected from their individual homerooms. Each representative met up with the other representatives from their team to discuss and share their student concerns, school-wide concerns, and team concerns. Each team shared one poster paper and wrote down the most occurring concerns. Then, each team shared their poster with the whole Full Council, voicing their suggestions on making Highlands a better place for all of us to live and learn. Our very own Vice Principal, Mr. Battad attended so he could hear these important concerns from the students first-hand. He addressed many of the concerns immediately and assured all of us that the administration is doing everything they can to make Highlands the best it can possibly be! Taylor, SG Vice-President

Full Council Meeting
Homeroom Representatives collaborated with all the students in their homerooms to discuss 1.) student concerns, 2.) team concerns, and 3.) school concerns. Our first Full Council Meeting of the year had the Reps sit by Teams to share their concerns and list the most prominent/urgent concerns on chart paper to eventually share with the rest of the Full Council. The Student Council and all 3 administrators were on hand to record these concerns and make plans to address/resolve every single one. With this kind of commitment to improving the school culture and climate it's no wonder that Highlands Intermediate is such an awesome place to learn!
