Highlands Haunted House 7: Cast & Crew

Lights, Camera, Action!  Highlands Haunted House 7: “The House of Hades” was put together to get the students of Highlands Intermediate to be excited to come to school and to be pumped up for Halloween!  From special effects to handling animatronics to guiding to scaring -- we did it all! Our amazing cast consisted of StuCo members as guides, monsters and even Hades, the main scare. Our crew worked all the special effects and became actors and actresses once it was showtime. The air guns, sound effects, the shooting gallery and monsters were all portrayed and handled by the Student Council, Mr. Nakagawa’s LC class and Mr. Fujii’s SMC class. Big thanks to everyone who helped make HH7 happen! Thanks especially to Mr. Weeks who played a big part in the Haunted House by painting all the breathtaking glow-in-the-dark 3D walls! Lastly, thanks to Mr. White who supervised us throughout the process of creating HH7 and running it. Highlands Haunted House 7: "The House of Hades!"

Imagine being stuck in a glowing room with unknown monsters and shadows lurking around every corner?!? At Highlands Intermediate, we have made your worst nightmares come true! The Highlands Student Council put together an amazing haunted house for 4 days that led groups of students — 600 in all — through glow-in-the-dark rooms, beautifully spray painted by world-famous muralist, Katch1. We had student guides that helped you go through the haunt and provided you with the instructions & skills to defeat the fierce and inexorable, Hades, Lord of the Underworld! You were given two rounds of shooting practice in the Shooting Gallery before entering the Underworld. Your first challenge, was immediate -- to get past the Boatman of River Styx by handing him his toll of one Drachma. Then, you were immediately greeted by Furies, shadows, and ghosts, lurking in the shadows of a ghost shipwreck!  Without thinking, hesitation, you entered the massive Gates of the Underworld and were met with the great Cerberus -- the 3 headed dog of the Underworld!  Running for your life you next get stuck in the seemingly Endless Caverns... these lonely tunnels hold innumerable lost souls waiting to make you theirs… forever! Past the dreadful caverns was an eerie cemetery full of spirits and ghouls at every corner….  Until at long last, alas -- Hades Castle! Past these dreadful walls, there waiting in Hades’ Throne Room is an, what -- empty throne? In a blink of an eye, Hades lurches at you from behind and tries to attack as you desperately try to make your escape! There was so much work into making this all possible but it was so worth it as at least 600 students were able to experience our haunt this year and live to tell the tale! Special thanks to Katch1 for eerie and chiling set design, Mr.Fujii’s SMC class and Mr. Nakagawa’s LC class for helping us to build and run the haunt. All in all, our cast of 38 students and 4 teachers were able to give Highlands Intermediate students an AWESOME Haunted House this year and memories they’ll surely never forget!  Lauren, SG President & Thalia SG VP
