Winter Formal 2021 Video

We're proud to say Highlands Winter Formal 2021 was a huge success! Big, big shout out to the 8th Grade Clas Council, Student Government, 7th Grade Class Council, and all the Committees for successfully planning and running this activity! Winter Formal ran during both 7th and 8th grade Lunch during which students were able to a play a variety of games to win Christmas prizes, take pictures at the photo booths, get a Christmas balloon from a balloon artist, vote for their Ice Kings and Snow Queens, hang out with their friends and enjoy the Christmas music and festivities! Congratulations to the 7th Grade Ice King and Snow Queen, Cyrus & Maddex and 8th Grade Ice King and Snow Queen, Kyle & Aislyn! Big thanks to everyone who came out! We're so pleased with the outcome of this activity and we couldn’t think of a better way to end 2021!

Halloween 2021: Mummy Wrap & Races

Who still dresses up for Halloween? Me! At Highlands Intermediate, you are NEVER too old to dress up. And in the spirit of this idea, Student Council threw a dazzling costume contest for the students of our school! Of course, teachers were welcome to participate as well! To make school more fun, leadership students, Spirit Club, and Student Government worked hard to make this activity come to life. For this Halloween costume contest, we had kids in dressed up costumes that blew even the biggest horror movie fanatic on the floor! During lunch, these hauntingly scary students lined up at a booth in the Library Courtyard and paraded about. Not only did the kids get to have fun but they were also able to showcase brilliant designs that are not normally possible with our school uniform policy. Highlands does activities for many different events for every holiday, but there are none quite like Halloween! Anakakia, Spirit Committee Chair 

Fun Friday 2

He shoots, He scores!!! Kids all around Highlands had so much fun playing games at Fun Friday 2 this past Friday, April 20th! From Soccer Shootout to Giant Speed Chess -- it was a complete blast for both students and teachers alike.! Fun Friday 2 was a much needed break from all the stress of SBAC testing and classwork. Students from different teams challenged each other for tons of spirit points! Lucky for team Fantastic Four, they earned the most spirit points this time. Fun Fridays

This year the Spirit Committee decided to make a new lunch activity in the P.E. Courtyard open to all students from all teams to compete and win Spirit Points for their team -- we call it “Fun Fridays!” With super fun games like our “Dodgeball Duel”, it was an all out brawl, one-on-one, team versus team dodgeball! We also introduced our new game, Giant Jenga. When constructed, the game stood about 4 feet tall and teams competed to keep the tower standing for as long as they could. This Fun Friday also brought back Muggle Basketball, with 2 teams fighting to have the highest score. Another event we had that had students lining up to play was Frisbee Quidditch, where we had the 3 Quidditch hoops up and the teams to make it through received spirit points. All in all, this activity caused movement in the spirit point tally and relieved stress off of burnt-out students from intense testing from the last 2 weeks! Josiah, Spirit Committee Chairperson

Here are some additional pictures from an unbelievably fun day!  It seemed the entire campus was looking forward to this event, and the Valentine's Day Dance "Beauty & the Beast' did not disappoint!!  Look at all the smiles, the fun, the excitement, the love in the air -- yes, it was so sweet ;)  These memories will not easily be forgotten, mixed into the an already unbelievable year...
