Student Leadership Conference 2017
The Student Leader Conference 2017 was the ultimate bonding experience for our Student Council! With all the huge decorations, fun games, new cheers, special guests, and amazing learning opportunities, our Highlands Student Council was very excited to bring it back to school, and make all those new students at Highlands to feel what we felt at SLC! The conference was held at the University of Hawaii at Manoa on June 22 - 24, 2017. 400+ student leaders from all the Hawaii islands w slept in the dorms and ate in the huge cafeteria. We ate like kings! The theme for this year’s conference was “Leadership, the Prequel.” It was a movie-based theme and the teams that we broke up into were Moana, Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and way more! When separated into different teams, we were all a little nervous, but learned about friendship, trust, and to be silly sometimes. Then, at important times, we need to be serious, and get things done. It really was an experience none of us will forget!!! Jenna, Assembly Committee Chair
