8th Grade Walk & Farewell Dance 2014

The final 2 activities of the 2013-14 school year started off with a tinge of melancholy with the annual 8th Grade Walk but ended with a bang at the Farewell Dance 2014!  Immediately following the Farewell Assembly and Highlands Ho'olaule'a, the 8th Grade Walk begun with farewell speeches from the Student Council and Advisors, then culminated with nearly 500 8th Graders taking one last stroll around the entire campus one last time.  Many hugs and tears were also mixed with laughter and cheers as they made their circuit around Highlands Intermediate one final time.  As a show of support, the 7th Graders came out of the Gym to support the 8th Graders with cheering and encouragement after their 7th Grade Crossover Ceremony had concluded.  To end the day we turned on the giant volcano and turned the DJ loose at the final activity of the entire year -- the Farewell Dance '14!  The entire school came together to "get down" one last time with DJ Spike on the Mic running the turntables to a giant slideshow of all the great memories during the 2013-14 school year.  Before we all knew it, the last song played and Summer was upon us...All the best to the class of 2018!!!
