Welcome Back Assembly 2024 “Adventure Time!”

“Hey! Hey you! Welcome to H.I.S!” Student Council cheers and chants let students know that the new year at Highlands was going to be absolutely memorable and amazing! Students from all 7 teams entered into a fanciful world of cartoons and everyone was so excited by all the amazing decorations! This year’s Welcome Back Assembly 2024 “Adventure Time!” took place on August 15th at the Gym where students were greeted with amazing vibes and music. The show started off with the anthems followed by the new Student Council and Teachers introductions which then broke out into awesome dance routines! The part everyone was waiting for was the kick off to the Highlands Spirit Competition 24-25 which was the annual Team Cheer Competition where each team would get to try to cheer the loudest for the first spirit points of the new school year. Team Kupono (Bluey) showed their team spirit and they came out on top! Following that, we had several other activities such as Jan-Kan-Po Race, Cartoon Character Relay Race, Dancing Telephone, and Cartoon Character Red Light, Green Light! It was sooooo fun seeing all the contestants competing and the crowd cheering for their teams. This all couldn’t have been done without everyone who came to help before, during and after the Assembly, so our biggest thanks is to you guys! What an amazing start to the school year?!?.... We can’t wait to show what else the Student Council has in store for everyone the rest of the year!  Ainsley Gusman, Student Government Secretary
