Christmas Spirit Week 2024: White Christmas Snowball Fight!

Can you think of a better way to start the Winter season than with a snowball fight?! The Athletics Committee hosted a fun-filled event for a white-out day dress up. The seven teams competed against each other in the Student Council Room on Wednesday 12/18 @ Lunch. All teams were armed with inflatable candy canes and palm trees and most importantly, a lot of snowballs! The energy in the air was electric, with laughter throughout the room as snowballs and palm trees being thrown everywhere! It was a memorable, light-hearted event that brought students and teachers together to embrace school spirit – without the cold ;)  Amelia Sanchez, Athletics Committee

Christmas Spirit Week 2024: Ugly Christmas Sweater Photo Booth

The holiday season has arrived and the weather has been getting a little chillier day by day, hasn’t it? To help keep everyone nice and warm, the Assembly Committee hosted the Ugly Christmas Sweater Photo Booth at the Student Council Room for students to dress up and show off their favorite ugly sweater with their besties! With Christmas music blasting loudly everyone hammed it up in front of the camera and they were rewarded with prizes for everyone who participated. It was so fun to see everyone’s funny poses in their ugly sweaters ;) This activity was the absolute perfect way to capture the moment of this special holiday season and also spend time with those they love. - Lyric Esperanza , Assembly Committee

Student Council Bonding: Christmas 2024

Student Council Christmas Bonding 2024 was a fun filled day where all the members of Student Council got to soak in the Christmas vibes and have some holiday fun! The event started with everyone taking a solo picture of themselves bursting out of a present, based on that viral trend going around on social media. Then, everyone got to make their own Christmas-themed Elf name to put on name tags! After everything was settled, the Secret Santa began and everyone had lots of fun opening their gifts and trying to figure out who was their Secret Santa after all. The highly anticipated potluck followed afterwards and everyone was so happy. We later played so many fun holiday themed games where we took turns unwrapping a gift and where we tried to not make noises from the bells or we would get hit by an inflatable candy cane! Finally, we ended with the traditional Gingerbread House Challenge which ended up leading to a crazy, all out food fight ;) This event was what we all needed after all the planning for all the holiday activities coming up! Intramural: Basketball 2024

At Highlands Intermediate, Q2 Intramural Basketball is one of the most anticipated and fun activities of the year! This tournament did not disappoint. Students got the chance to sign up and play in exciting and challenging games with their teammates. Intramural Basketball isn’t necessarily about being the best player, it's about having fun, working as a team, and getting better each time you play. The teams were assembled with the best ballers from each team and over the course of the week they really put on quite a display of skill, thrilling the fans each and every day! Big shout out to Teams Alaka’i and Hui Ha’aheo for being 7th Grade Co-Champions and to Team Kupono for being 8th Grade Champions! Pearl City Christmas Parade 2024

This year the Highlands Intermediate Student Council took part in the Pearl City Christmas Parade 2024! There were many songs, cheers, and most of all SPIRIT!!! There were so many schools, students, and clubs representing this year…It seemed as if the entire Pearl City community was out there cheering on everyone from the start at Momilani Elementary all the way to the end, Pearl City Shopping Center. There were so many floats and classic cars too that were decorated top to bottom in holiday swag! The Pearl City Christmas Parade was a holiday BANGER! The Student Council did such an absolutely great job with all their hard work over the weeks of preparing for their performance.
