Q4 StuCo Bonding Summertime is almost here! With student activities coming to a close, it’s time to celebrate with Quarter 4 Bonding! It has been a crazy, yet fun school year and it is time to close the year with this FINAL bonding! It was full of excitement with energizers, fun-filled games, awards, and water play! Leeward District Student Council 21-22

Student Council meets Student Council! On May 3rd from 2:30 - 5:30, our own student government attended the Leeward District Student Council (LDSC) for the first time in almost 2 years! That day after school, SG hopped in the back of Mr.White’s and took a trip to UH West Oahu. They had the opportunity to meet student councils from all across the Leeward District, high school, and middle school! How exciting! And while they did that, the advisors got to meet and talk about their school's student activities. LDSC kicked off with introductions from all the student participants, then everyone was split into groups for icebreaker activities. This gave everyone a chance to really get to know each other which brought us all closer! Later, everyone was responsible for sharing a few of their student activities and school concerns in these groups. All our student leaders were engaged and interested in the events at each school. Eventually, all groups got back together and shared as one whole. We ended off the LDSC meeting with the most delicious part, the food!! Normally, LDSC takes place every month in person, but SG was so grateful for the opportunity to attend our very first in person LDSC since COVID! Naomi, Student Government Secretary

Homeroom Representatives 21-22 Video

As we close off this school year, we want to take this opportunity to give a huge thanks to our very own Homeroom Representatives! These students have spent this entire school year assisting StuCo with spreading the word about our student activities. Throughout the school year, these individuals would come to the StuCo room during period 7 to get more detailed information about the many activities and important events that would take place in upcoming weeks. Their presence in person also gave them the ability to ask questions and really clarify everything they and the homeroom they represent need to know. They all have grown so much from their first HR Rep meeting and leadership workshop! From an outsider’s point of view, they’re changes throughout the year have been so impressive! They’ve gained skills like note-taking, public speaking, and of course, important leadership skills! Our Homeroom Reps this year have done an awesome job, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone next year too! Naomi, Student Government Secretary

Q3 Student Council Bonding

Spring time is coming around the corner, so what's a better way to celebrate than with spring activities, energizers and water play? Student Council celebrated their Q3 success with activities combining waterplay, energizers, and even a Student Council Kahoot! The event ended with the much anticipated water games and they were a blast! When we mean a blast, we literally mean a blast from several water guns and over 500 water balloons! It was an awesome and amazing way to set off for Spring Break! I'm pretty sure it was an unforgettable moment for every member of the Highlands Student Council, one not to be easily forgotten! Student Council Bonding Q2: Christmas

“…and since we’ve no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!” Merry Christmas to all! With winter break approaching, it’s time Student Council Bonding Q2: Christmas themed! In a swish of Christmas joy, the Student Council Room was transformed into an explosion of holiday colors, decorations, and life-sized inflatables. On December 15th, 2021, our elves, clad in stunningly ugly sweaters, filed in, promptly receiving their new, bedazzled elf names (Jingle Toffee Pie..what a lovely name!). And after performing cheers and our Stuco dance, the activities began! Organized by Student Government, we participated in Secret Santa, Blindfold Pictionary, Gingerbread House Contest, Saran Wrap Present, and a fun storytime to cool down! Whew, so many! But we were set for the challenge. The time flew by and through gumdrops and candy, presents and santas, love and playful war…our bond only grew stronger. As they say, “Work hard, play hard,” and the Highlands Student Council knows just how to do that. Mia, Student Government Vice-President
