Farewell Assembly 2026

The Highlands Intermediate farewell assembly began with a powerful wave of school pride as our community stood together for the national anthem and Hawai’i Ponoʻī. The energy peaked during the traditional 8th-grade final campus walk, which featured an unforgettable surprise appearance by Mr. Phung, the beloved former Laulima social studies teacher. The crowd erupted again during the highly anticipated Spirit Cup announcement, officially crowning 8th-grade team Koa Lau Lio as this year's champions! The celebration continued with incredible performances by our talented staff. One of our wonderful teachers moved the audience with a beautiful song, which was followed by a surprise group dance as teachers took the stage to perform to "ABC 123." Students cheered and laughed as their instructors showed off their synchronized moves, bringing incredible energy to the entire auditorium.
The assembly concluded with an emotional trip down memory lane as we watched a school year recap video showcasing how we truly "lived the dream" in 2026. After a final video showing each student committee officially signing out for the year, everyone gathered together to capture the moment with a massive group photo. Farewell Assembly 2025

This school year is coming to an end, which means it’s time for our annual Highlands Farewell Assembly 2025 where we say goodbye to our awesome 8th Graders (Class of 2029) and wish them all the best moving on to high school!  We also wish best of luck to all the 7th Graders (Class of 2030) moving onto 8th Grade. The Farewell Assembly took place at the Cafeteria by grade level after the 8th Grade Walk. Organized by the Assembly Committee, the Farewell Assembly contained inspiring messages from our very own Student Council and Committee Chairs, heartwarming videos, and lots and lots of fun! The big announcement came when we revealed the 2025 Highlands Spirit Cup Champions - Team Kupono!!! We also revealed the school theme for the upcoming 25-26 sy (Dreamworks) and what the Team's avatars (characters) will be. Lastly, the most important segment of the assembly was the annual teacher farewells to all the teachers that will be leaving us this year.  A hui hou to Mr. Ogata, Mr. Phung and Ms. Kaley!   It was quite a journey, and flew by way too fast, but we were glad to have everyone together on the last day of the school year...

Farewell Assembly 2024

As this most amazing school year comes to an end, we have one final assembly to give our congratulations and goodbyes to all students, staff and teachers!  This event is organized by the Assembly Committee and it showcases a lot of love for our outgoing 8th Graders, the mighty Class of 2028 ;)  Everyone looked forward to the big announcement about the Highlands Intermediate Spirit Cup Winner for the 23-24 school year… and it was none other than Team Laule’a who came out on top!!!  Huge congratulations to Team Laule’a for all their achievements this year from winning the very first spirit challenge (Welcome Back Assembly Cheer Contest) to the very last (Fun Friday 2024).  Saving the best for last we bid “a hui hou” to all the teachers leaving our school… we will miss you, thank you for the memories and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors ;).
