OSCAR Work Day 1

Wow -- wasn’t OSCAR Work Day a splash?!? OSCAR stands for “Outstanding Student Council Awards Recognition and it basically is a giant portfolio of everything our Student Council did in the 2018-2019 school year.  This year’s Student Council had such a blast working so hard on making the OSCAR pages by eating and playing, of course! Mr. White treated us to some McDonald’s and later on we had competitive water games which ended in several rounds of water balloon war! It was so much fun and was also a great team bonding experience as well.  Who says you can’t have fun and get stuff done lol ;) Liana, StuCo Historian

OSCAR Work Day 2

Snip, cut, slash -- it’s time for OSCAR Workday 2! Oscar Workday 2 was a complete success. More of the student council members were able to come out this time.  The result was that the StuCo Room was filled and was a lot of fun! From the amount of cheese and nachos intake to the amount of interesting conversations we had, we had so much fun and accomplished so much! We finished our OSCAR pages quite quickly as it was our second time around, so we had time for both fun and games!! Both OSCAR workdays were amazing this year!  It is our hope that our work will help inspire others for many years to come. ;) Aubrey, StuCo Historian

OSCAR Work Day

Leading and running activities all year leaves a lot of fun memories for students, especially for the members of Student Council! One way to share, keep track, and remember the activities of the 2017-18 school year is to document them in our OSCAR (Outstanding Student Council Awards Recognition) portfolio. Since we had many, MANY, activities in the first semester, our Student Council historians put together an “Oscar Work Day”, a day when we meet up after school and create crafty pages filled with all the activities so far this year. Each Student Council member signed up for an activity to make a page for: for example, one of the pages I signed up for was the “Student Leadership Conference” that StuCo attended to in the summer. Making this page returned many fun memories while summing what the activity was about, what we did and learned there, and looking at all the pictures again. Other things we did on Oscar work day besides making craft pages, was a newly added tradition: Sumo Challenge! We also revived a StuCo classic: Ninja! as well! I love crafts and bringing out my creative side, and what made Oscar work day better was that I got to spend it with my StuCo family. :))  Jenna, Assembly Committee Chairperson

OSCAR Work Day

Such creativity! Student Council members stayed after school to work hard on their OSCAR Portfolio. The OSCARs are full of pages detailing activities with lots of pictures and a narrative description to describe all the details. All different kinds of scissors, different colors of papers, took over the classroom! Scraps from paper and pictures, glitter and tape, were scattered all over the place!! Music playing loud in the background, we all took a trip back down memory lane -- it was such a nice and focused work day after another long day at school ;) Britnee, SG Secretary
