Fun Friday 2
Fun Friday 2 at Highlands Intermediate was an exciting and memorable way to celebrate the end of the school year. The event brought together students from both grade levels for a lunch full of energy, school spirit, and fun activities that kept everyone engaged from start to finish. Everywhere you looked, students were participating, cheering, and representing their teams. The lines for activities were long, which only showed how popular and successful each station was. Along with the fun, students were also competing to earn spirit points for their teams, adding an extra layer of excitement and friendly competition. One of the standout attractions was the student dunk tank. Many students lined up for the chance to dunk their favorite student council members, making it one of the most entertaining parts of the day. Laughter and cheers could be heard across the campus every time someone hit their target. However, the most popular activity of all was the prize wheel. The line stretched across the entire court, with students eagerly waiting for their turn to spin and win prizes. Its popularity made it the highlight of Fun Friday 2, drawing the biggest crowd and keeping the excitement going throughout the event. To close out the day, the competition for spirit points reached its peak. The 8th grade team, Koa Kou Lio, made history by earning over 1,000 spirit points—the highest total ever achieved. Their enthusiasm and participation truly stood out and made their victory well deserved. Overall, Fun Friday 2 was a huge success. It was a perfect way for students to come together, celebrate the school year, and create lasting memories before heading into the next chapter. — Avery Chagami, Dance Committee

Fun Friday 2
Only three more weeks until Summer and we’re here to end this epic school year with a bang! Friday - May 5th was our Fun Friday 2! We didn't know how we’d top Fun Friday 1 but we managed it and it was awesome! All of the students had the time of their lives on Giant Inflatable Basketball, Giant Inflatable Soccer, Gladiator!, Cup Pong, Giant Speed Checkers, Tic-Tac-Toe Race!, Giant Connect 4, The Floor Is Lava!, and Luchador! There were so many things to do and so much fun radiating all around! This was an event to remember and will hopefully carry all of us to the literal “finish line” - the last day of the most awesome 2022 - 2023 school year! Aviah, Assembly Committee

OSCAR Work Day 2
Oscar Work Day 2 was a hit! This year’s Student Council worked so hard making the OSCAR (Outstanding Student Council Awards Recognition) portfolio. The OSCAR is basically a huge portfolio of everything we’ve done this year as a Student Council. Each student was assigned 2 pages to create based on all the student activities throughout the entire school year. They also got rewarded with a yummy potluck and super fun games! It was so much fun productive and yet another great way to bond ;) Sasha, StuCo Historian

Full Council 2
Our school is amazing but even perfect things can be improved. That’s why we have Full Council meetings where students share their point of view to their peers, teachers, and administrators about how we can improve Highlands Intermediate School. At Full Council meetings all Homeroom Representatives gather Student, Team, and School from the students in their Homeorooms. They then bring those concerns to Full Council to first share within their Teams. From there, after everyone shares their concerns, the Teams decide the top 3 concerns for each topic to share with everyone. Teachers and admin are there throughout the process to get a first-hand account of the problems that our school faces. Each Team took turns sharing and everyone listened to what they had to say. Student Government recorded the Concerns and met with Administration later that week to come up with actionable results for all concerns. Each year we strive to be better and to improve our school, so let’s hope that next school year will be even amazing than the last! Ellis, 8th Grade VP
