Farewell Video 2026

Goodbye school year 2025-2026! The Farewell Video is an annual tradition to remember this past school year and all the great memories that were made. For 2 weeks we students and teachers from each team came down to the Student Council room during lunch to film their part and answer questions about this school year. Some questions they had to answer were what were their favorite activity and what was their favorite memory... We also had every committee and council from Student Council film a video and give a little message to everyone. We hope to be able to look back at this video someday and remember all the fun, amazing, and memorable times we had together this school year. The Farewell Video 2026 will be premiered at the Farewell Assembly 2025 on the last day of school.

Student Council Farewell Bonding 2026 "The Last Splash!"

Student Government President Ashlynn Peralta and Secretary Sophia Marie Kim went absolutely all out for the Student Council’s final bonding event of the year! Diving headfirst into a thrilling "Water Play" theme, they packed the day with high-drenching games specifically designed to leave everyone completely soaked. The competition heated up with a few rounds of a high-stakes water balloon spoon race and a frantic game of pass-the-water-cup, but the absolute highlight was the epic finale: a massive 8th graders vs. 7th graders water balloon fight. In the closing moments of the chaotic battle, the students united for one final mission—completely drenching our very own Mr. White! Fun Friday 1 2026

Highlands Intermediate kicked off its highly anticipated, end-of-year "Fun Friday" series, transforming the school grounds into a vibrant tropical paradise packed with high-energy activities. The campus was buzzing with school spirit as students raced through a massive inflatable obstacle course, drawing long lines, friendly competition, and non-stop laughter. The excitement reached a fever pitch over at the volleyball courts, where teams went neck-and-neck in a high-speed battle for the coveted Highlands Spirit Cup. With the most spirit points in school history on the line, students soaked up the sun and scrambled to complete their Fun Friday Reward cards. After participating in six different activities, students turned their cards into Mr. White for a well-deserved Otter Pop and a massive 25-point spirit bonus for their team. The absolute highlight of the day, however, was the Teacher Dunk Tank, which brought massive crowds during both lunch periods. Students cheered wildly as they lined up to dunk their favorite teachers. The Dunk Tank Lineup Included:

7th Grade Lunch: Mr. Zhang (Laulima), Mr. Shirafuji (Hui Ha’aheo), Mrs. Frilles (Hui Lokahi), and Mr. Lim (Alakai).
8th Grade Lunch: Mr. Karwiel (Laulea), Mr. Nomura (Kupono), and Mr. Miho (Koa Kou Lio).

Homeroom Representatives 25-26

Every Wednesday and Friday during Period 7, our campus comes alive with student leadership. This year, our 7th and 8th Grade Homeroom Representatives are officially back in action, meeting twice a week to map out the school year's biggest events—from energetic assemblies and intramurals to dances and community activities. Led by the Student Government team, these meetings are about much more than just planning parties. They serve as a vital sounding board for student feedback. Reps gather ideas, questions, and concerns directly from their peers and bring them to the table, ensuring student voices are directly shared with school administration. Through their hard work, these student leaders are keeping their classmates informed and actively shaping a better school environment. A big mahalo to all of our incredible Homeroom Representatives for making this school year one to remember!

Awards Night 2026

What a night for our Colts! We celebrated the Highlands Intermediate Awards Night 2026 this past Thursday, May 14th, and the energy in the room was incredible. Our 7 amazing teams took the stage to recognize students who truly went above and beyond this year. Each team presented "Excellence in..." awards across several categories, highlighting the diverse talents of our student body. Congratulations to all of our award recipients! Your hard work and dedication make Highlands Intermediate a better place every day. We are so proud of everything you have accomplished this year.
