SLC '14 (Student Leadership Conference)

"I had the time of my life! I want to go back!" were the words of every Highlands Student Council member who attended this year's SLC '14! The Student Leadership Conference can be described in many words: amazing, awesome, hilarious, incredible, stunning, unbelievable, marvelous, and so much more. SLC '14 was hosted at UH Manoa, and we all dormed at Frear Hall.  Everything at SLC was just stunning, not to mention the food:)  At SLC, the we learned not only about different types of leadership (FL - Facilitative Leadership) but also trust and friendship. We met a ton of people we instantly became best friends. The theme this year was "Oh, The Places You'll Go" and the event was filled top to bottom with Dr. Seuss such as Horton the elephant, The Lorax, and the Cat in the Hat.  We also learned many icebreaker, energizers and some awesome cheers such "A-W-E-S-O-M-E , AWESOME, AWESOME TOTALLY!"  Overall, SLC '14 was an epic experience and we will certainly utilize all these useful strategies, skills and experiences throughout the 2014-15 school year!
