Slam DUNK! Please welcome the Highlands Intermediate Basketball Players, our soon-to-be NBA stars! Played in the gym during May, “May Madness Basketball” was a hit! The gym was booming with yelling, cheering, music, and, of course, the excitement of different teams fighting for victory! It was the first time we used the gym all year, and the new experience was electric for every student! In fact, this may have been one of the most hype activities yet! Cheers were deafening, echoing across the gym, and students even made banners and signs to show their support for their team! Plus, our teacher coaches and personnel did an excellent job of keeping the game running smoothly. It was a great experience for all to show team spirit and enjoy their final months at Highlands Intermediate. Throughout the week, close scores and the sound of cleats across the gym floor filled up the lunch of many students= the energy was exhilarating! And on the final day, after scorching competition, 7th grade team Hui Haa’heo and 8th grade team Laulea came out on top, marking their place in Highlands history! Kaysen, Athletics Committee Chair
