Spirit Week 2024: Pixar Day

It’s that time of year again — Spirit Week, where creativity and school spirit blend into a whirlwind of fun and excitement! This year’s Spirit Week 2024 brought out the best in everyone, with each day highlighting a unique theme! Spirit Week Day 2 featured everything Pixar! Students and teachers alike took the looks of transforming them into scenes straight out of our favorite Pixar films! From the adventurous sight of "Toy Story" to the colorful world of "Coco," the creativity was on full display! Some students went complete with face paint and intricate accessories, while others found joy in the simplicity of a t-shirt emblazoned with their favorite Pixar character. What mattered most was the spirit of students and the shared love for the stories that have captivated our imaginations. Lunchtime held an exciting game called “The Claw”. This game is matched to the theme of the particular day. Students were excited and eager to join the fun! Students used their skill to extract prizes like spirit points, Otter Pops, and other sweet treats! The game consisted of a container filled with candy and goods that the students fulfilled! What an awesome day filled with adventures and unforgettable memories! Something truly, we’ll never forget! - Hailey Tubbs, Dance Committee

Spirit Week 2021: Pixar Day

What better way to start out Highlands Intermediates Spirit Week 2021 than with our very own Pixar day! On September 20th, Highlands Intermediate had people dress up like Doug from Up, cars from Cars, The Incredibles, we even had duos. Some people got very creative with making their costumes, some were DIY and some were store bought but it doesn't matter it was still amazing to see how everybody dressed up. A part of the fun was some people acted like the character they dressed up as. We even had a Pixar costume contest to see who had the best costume. We showed off our costumes and improvised pictures that would seal the deal. We had a winner of a duo who dressed up like Ellie and Doug from up. This was an amazing event, we had laughs, crys, embarrassing moments, and a whole lot of other emotions but even with all that we still had so much fun dressing up and making ourselves look silly. Spirit Week 2021: Pixar Day Door Contest

Get ready for the Highlands Intermediate Pixar Day Door Contest! Every year, homerooms compete with each other to see who can make the most artistic door in whatever theme they’re given. This time, with our school theme being Pixar, it just felt right to theme our door contest the same. All across campus, classroom doors were spiced up with colorful designs, with students choosing to design with paint, paper, streamers, and more! Running from September 20th to October 1st, the homerooms had plenty of time to come up with amazing ideas! Some doors were connected to those of other classrooms, some had designs that popped out, and some even had detachable parts! Everything was so impressive! And when all were finished, pictures were taken and sent to our lovely judges. But no matter who came on top, each door was absolutely stunning and filled with the energy and hope from the students of Highlands Intermediate! We couldn’t have asked for more!
