Farewell Assembly 2017 "How Far We'll Go..."

We couldn’t think of a better to way to wrap up the amazing 2016 - 2017 school year than  with a Farewell Assembly! Held on May 26, 2017 this activity was filled of farewells to all the teachers leaving Highlands Intermediate: Mr. Armstrong leaving to Radford and Ms. Zoller retiring, and Ms. Tallman going to be a Vice-Principal at a new school... The Highlands Cheer Squad brought the spirit up with their awesome performance along with the Latin Dance Club. In addition, we congratulated the Highlands Robotics Team and Highlands Science Club for their outstanding awards in their most recent international competitions! Lastly, with much anticipation. The Highlands Spirit Cup winner was announced for the 1 team that had the most spirit, the most spirit points from the dozens and dozens of activities throughout the entire year -- that team ended up being….HUI MANA’O!!! As the school year comes to a close, the memories that were created here during this school year will ultimately last a lifetime…. This Farewell Assembly was a testament to that and we now close an epic, memorable chapter in our lives ;)  Amaia, 8th Grade Secretary

Farewell Assembly 2015 "The Highlands Hunger Games Grand Finale!"

To conclude the 2014-2015 school year we recognized all of our school's successes at the Farewell Assembly. At the beginning of the assembly, Undefinded, from Highlands Talent Show, hyped up the crowd with a phenomenal performance. We even had an exhilarating Lion Dance performance from Mr. Fong's Lion Dance Club! Additionally, we humbly recognized our Robotics Team run by Mrs. Okai for doing an outstanding job this whole year.  Not only that, but we also called up our Science Team overseen by Mrs. Lin for all of their hard work and dedication. After one final "Hunger Game", Fantastic 4 reclaimed the possession of the coveted Sprit Cup... again. Sadly, all good things must come to an end and we had to say aloha and farewell to Mr. Miho (team Ho'ok'o), Mrs. Rosera (team Na Koa), Mr. Mathakul (team Laule'a) and Mr. Batad (7th grade VP), whom will not be returning to HIS next school year:(. We want to wish them good luck and safe travels for wherever their paths may take them. They definitely will be missed next year.  Peyten, Student Government Treasurer
