Intramural: Capture the Flag! 2024

Capture the Flag was intense – lots of ankles breaking, sliding, juking and just plain SPEED! The mission of Capture the Flag is to penetrate into enemy territory, steal their flags and get them safely to your side. For each victory, teams received 100 spirit points and glory! Lots of fans came out every day to cheer on and encourage their players. The action was intense: the fastest runners were always ready to run forth to capture the flag, always coming up with different strategies to get around the opposing team without getting tagged. Throughout the game, players talked to each other and coaches alike about new strategies. They did not disappoint… Congratulations to Laulima (7th) and Kupono (8th) for being Capture the Flag Champions 2024. Sweety Sony, 8th Grade Council Secretary

Q1 Intramural: Capture the Flag!

Q1 Intramural: Capture the Flag kicked off the intramural season and was so fun and entertaining!  Each team played with maximum effort and demonstrated lots of team spirit. The 7th grade and 8th grade teams played so smoothly with their friends and teachers cheering them on. In the end it was Team Alaka’i who took the 7th Grade Championship while Team Laule’a was the 8th Grade Champions.  Each and every day of Q1 Intramural: Capture the Flag! Was so exciting and we, the Student Council, want to thank all participants and fans for coming out and having fun so much fun in the sun with all of us ;)  Cailin Jamora, Assembly Committee

Intramural Q1: Capture the Flag!

For one entire week, teams raced across into enemy territory to try to steal their opponent's Golden Snitches in order to win our first intramural of the year - Capture the Flag! We took this annual intramural to the next level from September 26-29 by injecting our Harry Potter school theme into all the action. The flags became Golden Snitches and each team’s mission was to to steal all 3 Golden Snitches from opponents’ side and make it back safely to their side of the field where the game would stop and we’d reset for the next round of action! Speaking of action, the play was as furious as it was exciting to watch!!! Each team competed with maximum effort, leaving sweat, effort, determination, and also happiness and some truly amazing memories… We want to give a big shout out to all the players, coaches, fans and Student Council for making Q1 Intramural: Capture the Flag! such a huge hit! Extra special shout out goes to 7th Grade Champs - Hui Ha’aheo (Dragons) - and 8th Grade Champs - Hui Mana’o (Thunderbirds)!!!  Jazmine, 8th Grade Vice-President

Q1 Intramural: Capture the Flag!

The Q1 Capture the Flag Intramural was a hit! 7th and 8th grade teams fought their way to the top with pool noodle swords and the agility of their teammates. Only problem was, there could only be one team deemed the Capture the Flag Champion! The lack of tactics used by some teams contributed to their teams downfall, but there was one team that rose to the top. Getting past those who were determined to win the title was a struggle, but in the end, all of the teams were no match for Team Laule’a (Artemis)! Laulea crushed their opponents with their skilled and vigilant defense alongside with their aggressive and nimble offense! It was great to see all the participants having a blast at the intramural and the spectators cheering on their teams! Team spirit was high and morale was never low -- the Q1 Intramural: Capture the Flag was as close to perfect as perfect can get !  Eizekiel, Athltetics Co-Chairperson

Q3 Intramural: Capture the Flag

You asked for it, well you got it!  This quarter we introduced a brand new instrumural to Highlands called Capture The Flag!  Each team faced off in a challenge to get the other team’s flag back to their base. This seems like an easy challenge right? WRONG!  While the opposing team gets to the other team’s base, they then could hide out in safe zones which can make the player closer to their goal. However, if a player from the opposing team is not in a safe zone and on enemy territory , a player could get them out and the player would have to return to their base on the opposite side of the arena in order to get back in the game. Congratulations to team LAULE’A for winning the Q3 Intramural: Capture the Flag Championship game!!! They played hard and worked their best as a team! We hope to keep making new and exiting intramurals like Capture the Flag in the future…  Merrick, Athletics Co-Chairperson
