Lets set the scene… It's the last day of the Q1 and everyone is buzzing! They aren't only excited about the fun things they have planned for the imminent Fall Break, but also one more thing -- the annual black light and glow Fall Dance 2016! On Friday -- October 7, students were invited to the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter!" The cafeteria was transformed into Hogwarts on the inside, and Diagon Alley on the outside. Highlands students had a blast as they danced the day away, drank Butter Beer at the Leaky Cauldron, got arrested and sent to the Prison of Azkaban, and played Muggle Basketball, Quidditch Pong and Dementor Knock ‘Em Down! Hope to see you all next quarter for our winter dance, themed Harry Potter "The Yule Ball!” Ahnjeli, Dance Committee Co-Chair

Spirit Week 2016
We had amazing week with all 5 dress down days and activities: Pokemon Go Day, Harry Potter Day, Wacky Day, Sports Day, and Disney Day. Imagine walking into your school campus and seeing Squittles, Charmanders, Buzz Lightyear’s, andr Elsa’s everywhere - well, we made that fantasy into a reality! On Pokemon Go Day we had a lunchtime activity that consists of the contestants throwing the “Pokeballs” to catch the Pokemon characters for spirit points! Sports Day was a blast when the contestants raced and faced off against the other opposing teams’, through a fun and challenging obstacle course! Then, Wacky Day was full of silly, backwards, and inside-out madness! Everywhere you looked was something peculiar and super funny -- so, we just had to have a Wacky Day Costume Contest to find out who was the wackiest of them all ;) Thursday was Disney Day where we tested our contestants Disney and Pixar knowledge to see who truly was the ultimate “Disney fanboy/girl” in our Disney Trivia Crack! To end it all, like we do every year, we turned to our theme, Harry Potter Day where you could spot “the boy who lived!” everywhere around campus! To sum it all up Spirit Week 2016 was full of bonding and laughter, encouraging and motivating our students to want to come to school more. Thank you to all the contestants who participated and competed in our annual Spirit Week Games and every single one of you who dressed up! Josiah, Spirit Committee Co-Chair

National Purple Up! Day
Everyone on campus -- students, faculty, staff -- to wear purple today as a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Purple was chosen because it is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red and Navy blue. Big mahalo to all of our Highlands military students, faculty, staff and parents!
