Winter Dance 2022: Yule Ball

After two years of social distancing and masks, we get to fully show off our Christmas Spirit with the Winter Dance 2022 “Yule Ball”! Students dressed to impress, many with holiday cheer vibrating all around them. Students crowded the dance floor dancing to all the hits while others ran in line to take pictures with their friends at the photo booth! The Yule Arcade was bursting with excitement as friends competed against friends to find out who was best at Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Madden (our 3 eSports)! Snacks and sweets from our teacher vendors sold out in minutes… Stuco selling Dippin’ Dots, Laule’a selling Kona Ice, Hui’ Manao selling Papa John’s pizza, SMC selling canned juice, EL club selling water, Aloha Aina selling musubis, and Koa Kau Lio selling Nutella sticks and gummy bears! Wizards and witches crafted their own wands at Ollivander’s Wand Shoppe while others took their chances at Professor Trelawney’s Wheel of Fortune. Well that’s a wrap and until we meet again… stay warm, embrace the holiday magic, and have a “magical” Christmas! Aviah, Assembly Committee

Haunted House 10 Wrap Party

Highlands Haunted House 10 “Escape From Azkaban!” was the most amazing and immersive haunt yet and there was much to celebrate! The Highlands Student Council along with their “haunt helpers” got together the week after Halloween to give out awards with special certificates to commemorate and honor Most Scary Actor, Best Costume, Most Improved, and the most coveted award... HHH10 MVP ;) All in all, the HHH10 crew had one last time to hanging out, reminisce and have some last, final desperate scares attempts and pranks before they took everything down the following day. Highlands Haunted House 10: Solo Shots

To keep the Highlands tradition for Halloween, we hosted our annual 3d blacklight haunted attraction - Highlands Haunted House 10 “The Escape From Azkaban!” For a whole week straight, we had student council members run the haunted house with the help of some very talented friends! Thanks to everyone involved, HHH10 was a huge success and made so many unforgettable memories for both the guests and us, the actors!  Each Student Council member was assigned a role as either Guides, Actors or Special Effects. The experience all started outside at the Ticket Booth where students were put into groups of four and paired a wizard Guide!  First stop in the journey was the infamous Diagon Alley, full of wonder and magic in every corner!  While in the Weasley’s Wizard Whizzes shop, guests were arrested by the agents from the Ministry of Magic for “Improper Use of Magic”... with that they all earned a one way trip to the legendary and awful Prison of Azkaban!!!  Thank goodness that each of our guides are smart and skilled, that each group was able to escape with their lives and quite a story to tell in the end.  We hope you enjoyed this year’s haunted attraction and we hope also hear your screams again next year!  Bwahahahahahaha….
