Highlands Leadership Workshop 2023

Highlands Leadership Workshop 2023 gave the Homeroom Representatives the opportunity to learn what it really takes to be a leader through a variety of fun and engaging team building activities. The event took place in the Student Council room, on Wednesday - September 6th.  We kicked this event off with a fun icebreaker activity called “People Bingo” giving the students an opportunity to communicate and learn more about others and their interests. The whole room was filled with excitement throughout the day as participants enjoyed and participated in the rest of the activities Mr. White and Student Council had planned for them. Not only it was fun, but also educational, with activities that included using various leadership skills like problem-solving, communicating, teamwork, planning, and even building trust. Towards the end, students had the opportunity to work together to come up with ideas for our highly anticipated Haunted House 11. Using their awesome leadership skills and what they learned throughout the day, each group presented and we were able to get the best ideas! Highlands Leadership Workshop 2023 was a really fun event, demonstrating that everyone has what it takes to be a leader ;)  Anya Griffin, 8th Grade Secretary

Highlands Leadership Workshop 2019

The Leadership Workshop 2019 was an amazing event that will help us make Highlands Intermediate School a better place! The Homeroom Representatives as well as new Student Council members joined together to work as a team to learn about Leadership and how to do our jobs. We started off with a few icebreakers to get to know each other better as well as make new friends. We were split up into two different groups and were assigned tasks that involved a lot of group effort and good communication. We were challenged to do many games that needed a lot of complex thinking and good cooperation with the group. We collaborated and discussed our ideas and respectfully accepted everyone’s ideas. Overall, we ended on a good note and it’s safe to say that everyone had fun making new friends, working as a team, and learning new things! What a great workshop and here’s to an epic 2019 - 2020 school year!!!  Kamaile, Assembly Committee
