Full Council 2025

The Highlands Intermediate Student Council Room was buzzing with ideas as our dedicated Homeroom Representatives came together for an important leadership meeting. Reps from every class joined forces to speak up for their peers and discuss the future of our campus. The focus was entirely on voice and action, as students split into groups to tackle school concerns, team concerns, and individual student concerns. After addressing the serious topics, the energy shifted into high-gear creative planning. The reps got to work creating vibrant, detailed posters to brainstorm ideas for the upcoming 26-27 Halloween Haunted House! Teams mapped out spooky themes, layout designs, and scare tactics to ensure next year's event is the most thrilling one yet. Working together to improve our school while designing an epic school event made the entire meeting an absolute blast. It was the perfect mix of leadership, teamwork, and fun, proving that our Homeroom Reps know exactly how to make Highlands Intermediate a better place for everyone. Highlands Leadership Workshop 2025

The Highlands Leadership Workshop 2025 was a meaningful experience designed to connect and empower our student leaders. Bringing together Student Council members, homeroom representatives, and club officers, the event focused on preparing our students for the school year ahead. Organized by our Leadership class, the agenda featured interactive challenges including Super Secret Handshake, People Bingo, and 4 Corners. These activities encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones and collaborate with peers they might not usually work with. A standout moment was the "Trust Run," a powerful exercise that highlighted the necessity of reliance and cooperation in effective leadership. By the end of the workshop, students had not only built confidence and stronger friendships but also gained critical skills in communication and responsibility. The event successfully set the tone for a year defined by teamwork, service, and pride at Highlands Intermediate School. Shanell Saelua, Student Government Treasurer

Highlands Leadership Workshop 2024

Highlands Leadership Workshop 2024 was awesome and meaningful;! All Homeroom Representatives, Club Officers, and new Student Council members were invited to learn how to become leaders. There were over 70 attendees! Highlands Leadership Workshop was facilitated by Period 4 Leadership Class and our awesome Student Council Advisor, Mr. White. In the beginning everyone was quiet and shy but as the day progressed we did so many fun activities that brought people out of their comfort zones and into their courage zones! We played fun energizers like Super Ultimate High Five!, Head-Shoulders-Knees-Cup! And the ever favorite, All My Friends. Students also learned something called the Interactive Method which taught student how to facilitate and run effective meetings. By the end of the day, our future leaders were so hyped and left being so excited to be this year's newest Homeroom Representatives, Club Officers, and Student Council members ;)  Andrea Enanoria, Dance Committee

Highlands Leadership Workshop 2023

Highlands Leadership Workshop 2023 gave the Homeroom Representatives the opportunity to learn what it really takes to be a leader through a variety of fun and engaging team building activities. The event took place in the Student Council room, on Wednesday - September 6th.  We kicked this event off with a fun icebreaker activity called “People Bingo” giving the students an opportunity to communicate and learn more about others and their interests. The whole room was filled with excitement throughout the day as participants enjoyed and participated in the rest of the activities Mr. White and Student Council had planned for them. Not only it was fun, but also educational, with activities that included using various leadership skills like problem-solving, communicating, teamwork, planning, and even building trust. Towards the end, students had the opportunity to work together to come up with ideas for our highly anticipated Haunted House 11. Using their awesome leadership skills and what they learned throughout the day, each group presented and we were able to get the best ideas! Highlands Leadership Workshop 2023 was a really fun event, demonstrating that everyone has what it takes to be a leader ;)  Anya Griffin, 8th Grade Secretary
