Student Council Christmas Bonding 2025

The holiday spirit was officially in full swing as the Highlands Intermediate Student Council gathered for a night of pure festive magic and winter cheer at our 2025 Christmas Bonding celebration! The room turned into a cozy holiday village as we kicked off the evening with our highly anticipated Secret Santa exchange, unwrapping thoughtful gifts, sharing laughs, and spreading plenty of merry cheer. To keep our energy high, we shared a massive holiday potluck packed with an incredible spread of delicious home-cooked dishes, favorite snacks, and festive treats brought in by everyone on the team. Next, the ultimate holiday engineering challenge began as we split up into different teams for an epic gingerbread house building competition. With classic holiday tunes playing in the background, frosting flew, gingerbread walls were stacked high, and creativity went completely through the roof as each group designed sweet architectural masterpieces packed with gumdrops, candy canes, and festive decorations. It was the perfect winter getaway to collaborate outside of our usual meetings, bond like a true holiday family, and strengthen our leadership team. Student Council Bonding: Christmas 2024

Student Council Christmas Bonding 2024 was a fun filled day where all the members of Student Council got to soak in the Christmas vibes and have some holiday fun! The event started with everyone taking a solo picture of themselves bursting out of a present, based on that viral trend going around on social media. Then, everyone got to make their own Christmas-themed Elf name to put on name tags! After everything was settled, the Secret Santa began and everyone had lots of fun opening their gifts and trying to figure out who was their Secret Santa after all. The highly anticipated potluck followed afterwards and everyone was so happy. We later played so many fun holiday themed games where we took turns unwrapping a gift and where we tried to not make noises from the bells or we would get hit by an inflatable candy cane! Finally, we ended with the traditional Gingerbread House Challenge which ended up leading to a crazy, all out food fight ;) This event was what we all needed after all the planning for all the holiday activities coming up! Winter Dance 2023 "Grinchmas!"

The Cafeteria was filled with mostly nice - and also a few naughty ones lol! - for the highly-anticipated Winter Dance 2023 “Grinchmas”! It was such a blast to end the year, quarter and semester with this Dr. Seuss themed party!!! The Winter Dance 2023 “Grinchmas”, was held on December 21st @ the Cafeteria and Campus Center. This memorable and festive event had many other activities to participate in, also; it was vibrant, filled with contagious smiles and so much joy overflowing all over campus! The Grinch inevitably chose to not be a “mean one” this year, but instead the Grinch’s heart grew 3 times it's size and it was jaunty enough to even party with the ebullient students ;) The dance floor was alive blinking crowns and lights and with students partying it up like there was no tomorrow! Others were shopping at all the yummy food stands, taking unforgettable photos together, socializing, playing the glow games offered, or even watching "The Grinch" movie in the Library. The Winter Dance 2023 is by far the best dance I’ve experienced and many others agree from my assessment. A huge appreciation to all staff and students who were working and also to the amazing DJ Jojo Flow for his music that kept everyone hype from beginning to end. Winter Dance 2022: Yule Ball

After two years of social distancing and masks, we get to fully show off our Christmas Spirit with the Winter Dance 2022 “Yule Ball”! Students dressed to impress, many with holiday cheer vibrating all around them. Students crowded the dance floor dancing to all the hits while others ran in line to take pictures with their friends at the photo booth! The Yule Arcade was bursting with excitement as friends competed against friends to find out who was best at Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Madden (our 3 eSports)! Snacks and sweets from our teacher vendors sold out in minutes… Stuco selling Dippin’ Dots, Laule’a selling Kona Ice, Hui’ Manao selling Papa John’s pizza, SMC selling canned juice, EL club selling water, Aloha Aina selling musubis, and Koa Kau Lio selling Nutella sticks and gummy bears! Wizards and witches crafted their own wands at Ollivander’s Wand Shoppe while others took their chances at Professor Trelawney’s Wheel of Fortune.
