Pearl City Complex Summit 2026

On January 27th, I got to be part of something really cool called the Pearl City Complex Summit. It was a special event where teachers from different schools gathered to learn about different school stuff in general. Our school, Highlands Intermediate, got the chance to present about our student council. I was really excited because I got to be one of the MCs, along with my friend Reagan Fontanilla. Our job was to explain how the student council at Highlands Intermediate works. It was a little nerve-wracking at first, but it was also super fun. We got to talk about all the crazy and fun things our student council does. We told the teachers how we plan events, help our classmates, and even have fun doing it! Practicing my MC skills was a great experience. It helped me become more confident in speaking in front of people. Plus, it was awesome to see the teachers so interested and surprised by how much energy and teamwork we put into our student council. Overall, the Pearl City Complex Summit was an amazing event. Pearl City Christmas Parade 2025

The Pearl City Xmas Parade 2025 was a joyful event that brought the community together to celebrate the holiday season with excitement and cheer. As part of this annual tradition, various school clubs and organizations showcased their holiday spirit through lively marching, performances, and festive displays. This year, the parade began at Pearl City High School and continued along a route to the Pearl City Shopping Center. Highlands Intermediate School was proud to be part of the celebration, with our Student Council representing us with enthusiasm and discipline. Our students marched in strict formation, passed out candies to the crowd, and led cheers that filled the air with holiday joy. Their spirited participation helped spread warmth and happiness throughout the community. The Highlands group had an amazing time cheering, connecting with spectators, and soaking in the holiday spirit all around. The parade was not only a display of school pride but also a heartwarming reminder of the importance of community, friendship, and sharing joy during the holiday season. Pearl City Christmas Parade 2024

This year the Highlands Intermediate Student Council took part in the Pearl City Christmas Parade 2024! There were many songs, cheers, and most of all SPIRIT!!! There were so many schools, students, and clubs representing this year…It seemed as if the entire Pearl City community was out there cheering on everyone from the start at Momilani Elementary all the way to the end, Pearl City Shopping Center. There were so many floats and classic cars too that were decorated top to bottom in holiday swag! The Pearl City Christmas Parade was a holiday BANGER! The Student Council did such an absolutely great job with all their hard work over the weeks of preparing for their performance. Pearl City Christmas Parade 2022

“Highlands, do you have spirit?” Oh yes, we do! Pearl City has spirit, how about you?!?” The Highlands Student Council participated in the Pearl City Christmas Parade 2022 for the first time ever! This event was coordinated by the Rotary Club of Pearlridge and also included many other Interact Clubs from other schools as well. All clubs were there to proudly represent their groups with Christmas spirit and cheer! The parade started at Pearl City High School and ended at Pearl City Shopping Center. Throughout the event, we made sure to keep our energy high and and our voices even louder! People young and old lined the roads and were filled with excitement as each parade group passed by. Our cheers echoed throughout the streets of Pearl City and into the surrounding neighborhoods. As we reached the end of the parade, we were surprised that we earned 3rd place for Most Christmas Spirit! Thank you so much to the RCOP for the opportunity to participate in this event. Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week 2018

Teacher Appreciation Week 2018 is upon us and what better way to kick off the week than with our annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast?!?  HIS Student Council students enthusiastically served pancakes, portuguese sausage, fruit, coffee, and much, much more! We even several student acts dancing, singing, and playing musical instruments as our to entertain as our teachers ate and got to hang out ;)  Teachers really looked forward to eat a good breakfast and enjoy themselves as was evidenced by the long lines outside the Cafeteria before the start of the event! The 8th Grade Council planned the whole event and we’d like to give a HUGE shout-out to Pearl City IHOP and Waikele Starbucks for sponsoring this event with what they do best -- delicious pancakes and coffee!! The breakfast was a huge success as evidenced by these pictures and we just wanted to show our awesome teachers just how much we appreciate the things they do for us everyday!  Danni, 8th Grade VP
