Q1 eSport: Mario Kart 2025

Racers burned rubber on virtual tracks across the Mushroom Kingdom in our first eSports event of the 2025-2026 school year! Students faced off on Nintendo Switches in a 16-player tournament to determine who would represent their team in the ultimate showdown: a battle between the 7th and 8th-grade champions. Collin, representing Team Hui Haaheo, emerged as the crowned champion, earning 250 spirit points and a $50 GameStop gift card. Congratulations to our top finishers who also raced their way into the rankings:

eSport: Mario Kart 2024

On your mark, get set, go! Racing through places like Mario Kart Stadium, Bowser’s Castle and the infamous Rainbow Road, players from each Team got the chance to compete for the Q1 eSport: Mario Kart Championship Belt, a $50 GameStop gift card and 250 spirit points! The Student Council Room was inundated with colorful lights as local music filled the room. For four days,16 players from each team competed for the title “Team Champion.” It was so fun to see all the skill and energy each of the competitors displayed each race. Win or lose, they all had fun and showed great sportsmanship. Finally, on the last day, Team Champions from each of the 7 Teams competed to see who would be “School Mario Kart Champion”... After some really close races, an 8th Grader prevailed and was crowned “Mario Kart School Champion 2024!” Congratulations to Maddox from Team Koa Kau Lio and runner up, Kipi from Team Alaka’i!!! Q1 eSports: Mario Kart

Racers burned rubber across Mushroom Kingdom raceways—underwater, in the sky, upside-down in zero-g, and past the finish—for the win!  Races took place in the StuCo Room @ Grade Level Lunch. There were 16 racers + 1 coach per team. Team Champions were crowned each day.  Big shout out to 7th Grade Champion: Ichrio from Team Laulima who went up against 8th Grade Champion Zaine from Team Laule’a.  The showdown was at Rainbow Road and it was 8th Grade Champion Zaine from Team Laule’a who eventually prevailed!  He scored his Team, Laule’a a cool 250 spirit points and personally a $ 50 Gamestop Gift Card and the 2023 Mario Kart Championship Belt!!!  Let’s look forward to Q2 eSport: Madden.  Find your partner now in this 2 v 2 football tournament set for mid November…. eSport Q1: Mario Kart

We are kicking off the 1st eSports competition of the year with a classic - Mario Kart! 16 racers from each Team competed to find out who their Team Champion was. After 7 days of competition, the final day was the School Championship where all 7 Team Champions raced against each other to eventually become the Q1 eSport: Mario Kart School Champion! After 8 days of competition, there could only be one… Preston from Team 4 - Alaka’i emerged victorious and bested the entire school!!! Preston took home 100 spirit points for his team, $50 GameStop GiftCard and the prestigious Mario Kart Belt! Lawson, 8th Grade President

Video Game Challenge 2: Mario Kart

The crowd went wild as the karts sped past the finish line! Just like the Super Smash Bros. Tournament in the first quarter, the air was electric in the Student Council Room during Lunch as everyone was cheering for their friends or their team members!!! This is what it was like at our Video Game Challenge 2: Mario Kart.... From March 4 - 20,  16 Mario Kart contestants from each team raced competitively in the Quarterfinals and Final Round in order to make it to the Championship Round to become their Team Mario Kart Champion!  All 7 Team Mario Kart Champions met on the final day for one epic racing tournament for the ages!  In the end, it was Evan from Team Hui Mana’o who came away victorious as the School Mario Kart Champion for 2020!  Congrats to Evan and the Teacher Mario Kart Champion, Ms. Moore from Team Hui Ha’aheo!!!  Ryder & Justin, StuCo Historians
