Valentine's Spirit Week 2025 - Scavenger Hunt

“What’s the next clue?” was on everyone’s minds on Valentine’s Spirit Week Day 3: Scavenger Hunt. All 7 teams raced against each other to get to the finish line first! Thank you to the 8th Grade Class Council for putting on such an amazing activity which took lots of organization and teamwork. There were 4 stations spread out all across campus and students had to answer the riddle to find it’s location! Once there they had to solve various riddles to receive a special Valentine’s Heart and clue to the next location. Hearts were pounding as each second of the clock ticked by. Students faced a great amount of pressure when it was their turn to solve puzzles in front of their teammates who were eagerly cheering them on. In the end it was Team Laule’a that came in 1st Place with 250 spirit points and glory! 2nd was Team Koa Kau Lio and 3rd was Team Hui Lokahi… Kiley-Ann Hue, 8th Grade Vice-President

Spring Spirit Week 2022: Easter Scavenger Hunt

It’s finally the lovely season of spring, flowers blooming, birds singing, and most importantly: Highlands Intermediate’s new Spring Spirit Week! Spirit Weeks are staple activities across the United States, and what better time to rejuvenate our students than the final months of school? One of the thrilling activities that took place during the week of dress ups and activities was the Easter Scavenger Hunt! But this time, there was a twist! Instead of a traditional clue-based game, Spirit Committee designed a mind-boggling hunt of puzzles and brain games! That day, April 28, our student teams competed to see who’s brain could navigate the sea of confusing games the fastest, and boy was it exciting! But no matter the outcome, the smiles and laughs that participants gained were more than enough of a prize. This activity has opened up new ideas for other activities, and we hope you enjoyed this year’s Spring Spirit Week 2022: Easter Scavenger Hunt! Mia, Student Government Vice President

Christmas Spirit Week 2021: Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt

It's that Christmas time of year again when everything gets colder and there are family gatherings galore! This December was one that Highlands Intermediate will never forget because of Christmas Spirit Week 2021 - 5 days of holiday dress ups, and 5 days of festive lunch activities!!! Even as the pandemic raged on our plans and normal activities, the Christmas Spirit Week 2021 was an awesome success. On some days, students dressed up as their favorite Christmas characters like Santa, elves, reindeer, nativity scenes, Christmas movies and book characters. Our activity for Tuesday, December 14, 2022 is Scavenger Hunt: Elf on the Shelf @ the Library Courtyard during Lunch. Teams of 4 students and 1 teacher solved the clues to find all the Elves hidden at aquaponics, the Band room, the Office, the Cafeteria, and back again at the library. After all were found, the teams raced back with the winners being those with the fastest times! Teams displayed stunning problem solving abilities and the entire game was so fun to watch! We hope you had fun! Duke, Promotions Committee Chair

Spirit Week 2019: Sports Day

He shoots, he scores! Sports Day 2019 was full of excitement and sports fans repping their favorite team's jerseys and gear. Our students were given the chance to dress up in sports uniforms and jerseys and express their love for their favorite sports. This Thursday's lunch activity was a Sports Day Scavenger Hunt. One boy, one girl, and one teacher from each team walked throughout campus with one student council member using riddles to find the places they had to go to to retrieve the 7 missing intramural equipment. Whoever got back the fastest without breaking any rules and all of the equipment in hand won. All the teams had a blast and were able to show their competitive spirits through this scavenger hunt. For this lunch activity, team Hui Mana’o came in 1st place! Go Mana’o!  Sports Day couldn't have ran more smoothly and was so much fun to participate in. Abby, 8th Grade President

Spirit Week 2018 "Throwback Day"

For Throwback Day, we decided to have a Throwback Scavenger Hunt for the lunch activity.  Teams would get 7 riddles to find 7 places all over campus. At the correct location they found out what throwback situation they would have to act out and record (via a chaperone with a smartphone).  Some of the situations were “Do a Michael Jackson “Moonwalk”, roller skate around a rink, and do the Limbo. The teams were running all over campus and while they were running you could see that all their fellow students yelling and cheering them on!  This year’s scavenger was a hit and was so fun!  We could tell that the teams had fun too and they were sooooo out of breath by the time they returned back to home base and the finish line ;) What a memorable activity the Throwback Scavenger Hunt was!  Sasha, StuCo Historian

Spring Break Scavenger Hunt

Congratulations to Team Fantastic 4 for winning our 2015 Spring Breaker Scavenger Hunt! Each team nominated four students to participate, two boys and two girls.  The participants came out during lunch to represent their team where a "How To Have Fun During Spring Break 2015" booklet  was given to them. Each booklet contained clues and activities like watching Netflix and working out at the gym, which they had to act out once they found the location that the clues brought them to. When the students found the location, they acted out the scene and the chaperone Student Council member took a picture of as evidence for spirit points.  Other awesome Spring Break situations involved participants being chased by a shark, doing the limbo and much, much more!  What an excellent way to get some serious cardio and also end the 3rd Quarter with a bang! :)  Peyten, Student Government Treasurer
