Staffulty Appreciation Breakfast 2023

We were able to give teachers the thank you they deserved at the Staffulty Appreciation Breakfast 2023 on Friday - 5/12/23 @ the Cafeteria. To recognize the teachers for their hard work, Student Government planned this event to celebrate our awesome teachers and staff and to show them how much we really appreciate all that they did for us this year. As the staffulty made their way into the Cafeteria they had to make a mandatory stop at the Teacher Photo Booth and then Teacher Prize Drop to score inflatable instruments, score spirit points and even “air hugs” lol! After that, staffulty were treated to juices, coffees, McDonald’s Hotcakes & Sausage platters. You can tell the event was a huge success with all that happiness on their faces ;) Big, big thanks to our sponsors for the event: Starbucks (Waipio) and McDonald’s of Gateway Shopping Center and McDonald’s of Pearl City Shopping Center! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week 2023! Thank you for all your hard work, teachers! Emma, 7th Grade Council

Teacher Appreciation Week 2023

With the end of the school year approaching, teachers are being recognized with specials at retailers and restaurants across the U.S. for Teacher Appreciation Week. Former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt began the effort to create Teacher Appreciation Week and National Teachers Day when she urged Congress in 1953 of the need for a day recognizing teachers, according to School Specialty. National Teacher Day was initially celebrated on March 7, but in 1984 was moved to May. At that time the National Parent Teacher Association began calling the entire first week of May as Teacher Appreciation Week. Homeroom Representatives were tasked with created Teacher Thank You Posters to give to their Homeroom Teachers. They were to then take a group picture and send the pic to Mr. White. Can you tell by these photos how much our teachers are loved?!? Happy Teacher Appreciation Week 2023!!!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week 2019

It's been a long year and before we celebrate the end of the year, let's celebrate the people that got us there -- our teachers and staff! These adults have kept up with our shenanigans and deserve to be appreciated so this amazing year through Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week 2019! We decided to thank them with a very special breakfast on Thursday, May 9 before the start of school.  The teachers lined up extra early for our Hawaiian Luau-themed event and were adorned them at the entrance with flower leis, sunglasses and hugs ;) After that, the surprises kept coming -- every teacher got a chance to win even more stuff at our giant Prize Drop to win some fun prizes before getting their breakfast. The breakfast provided consisted of pancakes, sausages, eggs, rice, donuts, fruits and chocolate-covered strawberries, most food given was from our awesome sponsors. Sponsors included, IHOP, Starbucks Coffee and Dipped by Dees! The teachers and staff also were also able to watch some amazing hula performances from students Jadee Silva, Teya Apana and Miss Keiki Hula 2018, Rachel Kimura! The breakfast came to an end as the bell rung for school to start, but the smiles on the teachers’ and staffs’ faces never faltered that entire day.  Thalia, SG Vice-President

Teacher & Staff Christmas Appreciation 2018

Christmas spirit is indeed in the air and the time to show our appreciation for our wonderful teachers and staff has finally arrived! A chilly early morning showed the perfect opportunity to bring breakfast and coffee for the staff and teachers to show how much we appreciate and respect them for all the hard work they put into teaching all 1000 of us students and all the extra time they put in order to help us succeed. To help start our lovely staff and teachers’ day off right, we provided them with complimentary breakfast and Starbucks coffee along with an inviting greeting outside from other Stuco members. The goal we had with this event was to make sure that the staff knew that they were appreciated for the hard work they put in for us everyday and judging from the smiles and amount of food that was taken I expect we accomplished our goal and made a lot of our teachers and staff way happier that day ;)   Chase, 8th grade President

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week 2018

Teacher Appreciation Week 2018 is upon us and what better way to kick off the week than with our annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast?!?  HIS Student Council students enthusiastically served pancakes, portuguese sausage, fruit, coffee, and much, much more! We even several student acts dancing, singing, and playing musical instruments as our to entertain as our teachers ate and got to hang out ;)  Teachers really looked forward to eat a good breakfast and enjoy themselves as was evidenced by the long lines outside the Cafeteria before the start of the event! The 8th Grade Council planned the whole event and we’d like to give a HUGE shout-out to Pearl City IHOP and Waikele Starbucks for sponsoring this event with what they do best -- delicious pancakes and coffee!! The breakfast was a huge success as evidenced by these pictures and we just wanted to show our awesome teachers just how much we appreciate the things they do for us everyday!  Danni, 8th Grade VP
