Thanksgiving Bash 2025

Our Thanksgiving Bash 2025 proved that you don't need a dinner table to start the celebration. The Highlands Student Council outdid themselves this year, turning ordinary grade-level lunches into a festive experience featuring nine unique activities. While games like Pumpkin Pie Face and Pumpkin Patch Match brought plenty of laughter and "undeniable energy," the event was about more than just play. It provided a vital space for students to bond and create lasting memories. Our Gratitude Box served as a beautiful centerpiece for the day; it was overflowing with notes of thanks, proving that our greatest strength is our connection to one another. It was a joy to see the student body come together to celebrate gratitude and friendship in such a meaningful way.  Sophia Marie Kim, Student Government Secretary

Thanksgiving Assembly 2024: Race for the Cause

Welcome to the annual Thanksgiving Assembly 2024! In this event, the entire school gathered together in the Gym and to show our Thanksgiving spirit and love for community! Before the event, we started to talk more about Thanksgiving and what it's true meaning was. We then thought about how we could take the message of being thankful to then show our support and pride in the various community causes that are all around us! After finding our cause, we created logos to pin to our shirts as the entire school either walked, ran, or sprinted with their “Race For The Cause” logos which we designed during homeroom earlier in the day. There were also many cool shirt designs supporting foundations such as Make a Wish, Hawaiian Humane Society, and many more! And for those who didn't want to race in the sun, there was a "Just Dance" marathon that went down in the Gym! Overall, this event was super fun and great way to show support for those in need ;). Thanksgiving Food Drive 2024

Happy Thanksgiving, Colts!  This year, our colts learned how to give others a VERY happy Thanksgiving. They did this by participating in this years annual Thanksgiving canned food drive. They gathered cans that were in their cabinets in their houses that they could donate to those who are in need. In the end, the students were able to gather a total of 1,037 pounds of food and were able to raise $930 in monetary donations. Thanks to this it has caused a HUGE positive impact on our community and possibly gave people who are unfortunate to have a great Thanksgiving. We are thankful for the students who participated in making other Thanksgiving filled with happiness and joy.

Staffulty Turkey Trot 2021 Video

Staffulty = Staff + Faculty!  The Highlands Admin planned a super fun and heart healthy Thanksgiving bonding activity instead of another boring meeting ;). Our Staffulty had a series of Thanksgiving themed exercises to participate in 3 categories: Easy - Medium - Hard.  Big thanks to our Student Council and National Junior Honors Society for helping to facilitate all of those activities!!!

Thanksgiving 2021

The time of the most thankful month! Thanksgiving! This year's Thanksgiving was spectacular! We played many fun activities that helped us recognize the true meaning of thanksgiving. The start off of our Thanksgiving activities was an amazing Thanksgiving kahoot! It was about the background of knowledge and most importantly why it’s meaningful. Not only just playing a fun kahoot we had exciting prizes, which were turkey hats! Another activity that ran was inspirational posters! This activity was to encourage others to be grateful and to show people that we appreciate them! It also helps put smiles on kids faces with everything going on (COVID-19). Last of all was the amazing Terrance Tally giving an astounding motivational speech. He showed us how we need to be grateful and honestly learn how to be better people one step at a time. He was very moving and wise, we needed a wake up call to help us understand that we are all privileged and should be thankful for it. That was all of our Thanksgiving activities!  Jaslene, Spirit Committee

Thanksgiving 2021: Who’s My Match? Video

Colts, Thanksgiving is coming! As we move on from Halloween and all our spooky activities we’re heading into Turkey Season! One special holiday activity that we have planned for you all is called “Who’s Your Match?”, which will be held today, Tuesday, November 23rd, from Period 6 to the end of lunch. “Who’s Your Match?” packets will be distributed to Period 6 teachers today. Period 6 teachers will then make sure all students have their number card assembled and worn around the neck. The goal of the game is throughout the day to find the person with the same number in the same grade level as you. If you succeed, you and your partner will earn spirit points and a sweet treat at the “Who’s Your Match?” Lunch Booth @ the Library Courtyard. Good luck, Colts!

Thanksgiving 2020: Favors 4 Furry Friends

Happy Thanksgiving, Turkeys!  Did you hear about all the great Thanksgiving activities from Friday, November 20 to Wednesday, November 26?  I hope you participated in the 8th Grade Council's “Favors 4 Furry Friends” activity.  The 8th Grade Council worked really hard to put together a toy drive for all the dogs and cats at the Hawaiian Humane Society.  You can even make cute little dog or cat bandanas as well ;). What a great way to be kind and thoughtful to our furry friends, especially those that have been given way, lost or forgotten during the Thanksgiving season. When you do something for the community, doesn’t it feel good knowing that you helped somebody/something, especially during this pandemic?  After all the donations were collected, counted and sorted, the 8th Grade Council went to Hawaiian Humane Society on Wednesday December 8th to drop off the donations and they met a nice lady named Annie Mukai.  Ms. Mukai met up with and greeted the 8th Grade Council at the Hawai'i Humane Societyand graciously accepted the donations.  We hope to see everyone soon and stay safe!!!  Delicia, 8th Grade Secretary
