Student Council Bonding: Pearlridge 2023

During the Student Council Bonding at Pearlridge in 2023, the excitement was palpable as everyone eagerly arrived and geared up to conquer their designated escape rooms at Hawai’i Escape Challenge!  The Highlands Intermediate Student Council took on the daunting challenges of the Red Doors, The Cabin, and the Nuclear Launch, with all but one group successfully breaking free within the one-hour time limit. The experience of working together under the pressure of time added an extra layer of camaraderie. Following the exhilarating escape rooms, the student council members then gathered at Bravo, an Italian restaurant also within Pearlridge, to enjoy a satisfying meal and conclude the day with full stomachs. The event proved to be an exceptional bonding opportunity, as students not only collaborated to solve puzzles but also learned more about each other, fostering stronger connections within the our very own student council community.  Bella Leong, Dance Committee

Student Council Q1 Bonding: Hawai'i Escape Challenge!

Our first bonding activity for the 2022-2023 school year was full of anxiety and fun everyone who got locked up! On October 4th, Student Council met up at Pearlridge Mall for an fretful and frenetic hour at Hawai’i Escape Challenge!  There were several escape rooms available but we eventually chose “The Cabin”... You're lost in the woods and stumble upon a cabin. You see the lights are on and think it's safe.  Do you enter? While inside the Escape Room, we got to use our teamwork and cooperation skills, and have a wonderful, fun experience too!  We eventually escaped with just a minute to spare!   Needing a break from all the excitement we headed down to the Food Court for some well-deserved snacks and also to enjoy some time with each other.  This was a day that I’m sure, nobody will ever, ever forget!  Sammi, Assembly Committee

Christmas Spirit Week 2020: Christmas Escape Room!

Do you have what it takes to save Christmas?!?  Well, these eager sleuths sure did!  If you don’t know, an Escape Room is a game in which a team of players cooperatively discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in one or more rooms in order to progress and accomplish a specific goal in a limited amount of time.  In this case, our escape room was virtual and Christmas themed.  In the end, these three teams survived and did indeed save Christmas - yay!!!  Victoria, Spirit Committee

StuCo Bonding: Hawaii Escape Challenge!

Our first Student Council Bonding activity of the year was so much fun! We went to Hawaii Escape Room located in Pearlridge Center and we split into 3 different groups and got to choose from 3 different escape rooms: The Cellar, Diamond Heist, or Championship Room.  Even though we didn’t get escape, we still had a great time and got to bond with each other in a thrilling and challenging way!  Bethany, StuCo Historians

Highlands Escape Room 2

The wicked Medusa has trapped you in her lair and you only have 10 minutes get yourself out… with your life! For the second year in a row, the Highlands Student Council hosted Highlands Escape Room 2! All 7 of the teams competed head-to-head to see who could escape the StuCo Room before time was up. We hid ridldes and keys in out of the way places and we gave them only 10 frantic minutes to escape!  With only 2 clues per team, most were turned to stone by Medusa’s petrifying stare! StuCo Bonding: Hawaii Escape Challenge!

Ready? Your challenge starts…. NOW ! On September 8, 2018 the Highlands Student Council went to Pearlridge Uptown Center to experience Hawaii’s #1 interactive escape room experience -- The Hawaii Escape Challenge! It was sooooo much fun! Our group was so big that we got to choose from 2 different escape rooms: The Championship and Nuclear Launch. The Championship pitted two different teams in identical, but separate rooms going head to head with each other in a race against the clock. The goal was to find the trophy first by solving riddles, locks and even finding secret passages!  In the Nuclear Launch, the team’s job was to find clues, riddles or hidden passages to try and disarmed launch of a nuclear missle from the White House! Even though some of us didn’t make it out on time, we still had a blast and it was an awesome team bonding experience! It made us grew closer together as a Student Council and helped us to get to work together, solving problems, taking leadership roles, and communicating with each other in a super stressful situation!!! Escape Room Team Challenge!

The Joker has trapped you and 6 other team mates in the Student Council Room — you are trapped and time is ticking!  What. Do. You. Do?!? The Highlands Escape Room Team Challenge was a blast!!! This was definitely a special activity because it was Highlands' first ever escape room. It was team vs. team, grade vs. grade level challenge Each team got to send their finest to get locked up...and hopefully, escape in time! To get on the team, each Homeroom tested it’s students with logic puzzle. It was timed in order to find the 7 best students on each team. The story went that the Joker captured your team and has you all as his prisoners... Will you escape in time?!? Each team had a time limit of 10 minutes, but the good news is that they had 3 hints. Teams were struggled to get to the next step of finding the key that would set them free from the Joker's nasty imprisonment. Did your team make it out? A few did, most didn't! StuCo Bonding: Hawaii Escape Challenge!

Ready...Set...Escape! Have you ever been stuck in a situation and had to work with other people to fix it?  Well on Saturday, September 9th the HIghlands Student Council experienced the Hawaii Escape Challenge at Pearlridge Uptown for themselves!!  Everyone had to work together to find out how to get out of their rooms within the time limit of 1 hour!  We got to choose from 3 different escape rooms: The Diamond Heist, The Virus, and the Nuclear Launch! There were 3 separate rooms we needed to figure out how to get into and out of.  Each room was filled with dozens of different puzzles we needed to solve in order to find other clues, riddles and even secret passageways and rooms!  Even though we didn’t make it out in time -- we were only a puzzle and a half away from making it out successfully -- we still had an amazing time and it was an awesome team bonding experience!!  We learned how to work together in stressful times, and under time limits, how everyone reacts to harrowing situations, who takes more of the leadership role when we have a time limit to work on something, and that communication is the most important part of a team…  Would you ever like to try an escape room with your friends and family?  Do you think you’d be able to make it out in time?!?
